The room was small for the price.
It was not clear the difference and location between east and west buildings. I thought it was just a difference between east and west views.
The Lodge is a terrific place to stay. However, when we arrived at night we could not find our room number in the darkness. Reflective numbers might be a solution.
Nice place to stay close to the GC with a nice casual restaurant, tavern and general store all within walking distance. Staff was very nice and helpful with shuttle schedule. Would definitely stay here again.
property is as clean as you can get for being in a national park, where people trek dust and dirt after a long day out walking and hiking in nature. the rooms are okay - the beds seem recently replaced. the bathroom is definitely showing wear and should probably be upgraded at some point. staff are accommodating and super friendly.
Wonderful to wake up in the park and have a view of the pines right outside your window. Easy access to cafeteria style dining. Right by the visitor center.
Yavapai is VERY convenient for staying at the Grand Canyon. It is a slightly worn down property, but that doesnt mean it isnt great - its just well used and homey. The bed was actually quite comfortable, but the rest of the room amenities felt a bit dated. The staff was helpful in getting us settled.
The dining options near the hotel exist - and are VERY expensive. We dined both at the lodge options and in town. The lodge dining felt very mass produced. It was edible, but not outstanding. There is a market onsite as well with groceries, souvenirs, and drug store items. The food options in town are fairly limited and expensive.
I recommend bringing in what you can for snacks and drinks. We saw elk near the rooms a few times - which was AWESOME.
We would stay here again when looking for convenient and inexpensive accomodation in the park.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The room was small and very old. It was fine for what it was and a convenient place to stay for the Grand Canyon. If you plan to spend more time in the room, you might want a nicer place.
