good : location, room, aircon , bathrooms and its hot water.. breakfast is okay , will be better with more variation on different days bad : it's difficult to open the door (406) from outside, must tab the card multiple times. it's hard to lock the door from inside

Not worthy of a title..Patrons Beware..

Had a room booked for 7 days couldnt sleep on beds as they were toooo hard and gave us bad backs...no service...no lobby bar or coffee shop or resteraunt as advertised...western breakfast consisted of toast and that was it...wifi was pathetic...power vaultage was pathetic...we only stayed 3 out of our seven nights and they refused to refund any monies at all..There also was no tourist desk as advertised..and no one could speak english but the manager if you could get a hold of him..This place is falsely advertised so beware people ..I would not even rate this place as a one star hotel..Not happy at all as we lost money big time..4 nights..plus had to pay for another hotel for the rest of the four nites....Disgusting is all i can say...Beware People...

Beware the mozzies

The location is the biggest selling point of this hotel, just a very short walk from the Guangdong east station. But because there's no wifi in the rooms, and spotty wifi in the lobby, you end up spending some time in the lobby which is a haven for Mosquitoes. They also somehow get in your room, which is much smaller than the 300+ sq feet advertised. It's also quite noisy from honking cars taking the small road in front of the hotel. The chambermaid left a nice handwritten note for us, which was a touching gesture.

Great location only...

Yes, great location only. (Near Guangzhou East Station, Line 3 from Airport directly abt. 30-40min, Shopping mall, etc) And for the Canton fair, they have shuttle bus. No others, just sleep, quick shower, go to work, return, quick shower again, go to have dinner near, return and just sleep.

Excellent Location

I am a regular at the Lilac. Its location, close to GZ East Train Station is ideal for my work commute. Single rooms are really tiny and the beds are pretty hard but surprisingly I sleep really well. Location is surprisingly quiet due to the large garden. Possibly a bit hard to find for a first time visitor, tucked away behind the Centre Plaza.

Familiar territory

I am a regular at the Lilac, because it is close to the train & bus stations and only a short Metro ride to my company's head office. Absolutely nothing fancy, in fact the single rooms are tiny and the corridors are drab, but for convenience and excellent value-for-money I'll keep going back there. Perfect for catching the train to Hong Kong.

Quiet and home like

I enjoyed the spaciousness of having a suite and it felt very homely. It was a quiet location with bakeries, convenient stores located within 5 minute walk. It is only a short taxi trip to the main central shopping centre of Guangzhou. The internal garden is private and lush. I had a superior king size room and I thought it was value for money.

The hotel is good location 2 minutes walk to the Eastern Railway Station and APM (underground Train), Huge shopping mall close by, restauarants and convenience stores are close by. The room side is big. Unfortunately the shower room too dark, light bulbs are all broken down,need hotel staff help to change 2 times.The shower head is great and the water is hot enough, but the white colour towels in the bath room are all turn to grey colours,looks like it is not clean. The first night I was bitten by mosquito, until 5 am ,I find the electric machine. The pillows are all too soft, and have not properly dried smell. I didn't sleep well 2 nights. Because the second night whole night have 2 peoples outside of the garden talking and shouting from 2300- about 0400 am. not so sure they are the staffs of the hotel or customers. The room charge is really low, I reminded myself what did I expect.

ive paid more for less

the room was clean, there was enough hot water, everything worked, the garden is lovely and the location is extremely convenient. The bed was not only hard as a rock, the springs stuck into me, I ended up sleeping on top of the blanket. I had an outside room and it was unbelievably noisy, get an interior room over the garden if you can. The staff were ok but speak little English and are not very willing to help with anything beyond the basics.

The location of the hotel was very convenient. It is only a 5 minute walk from the East Railway Station (Guangzhou). A shuttle bus was available to take you to and from the Canton Fair. Very well organized. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

DONT STAY HERE!!!

I stay for 1 night. Book through Hotels.com. Confirmations given is room with balcony garden view, television with movie channels and dvd player, wireless internet, private kitchen with refrigerator and microwave. However upon check in, room given is standard (limited space only 1 person can walk at a time) no garden view, no internet, no breakfast. none of the room details is given!!! when i show the confirmation slip, the manager in charge ask me to pay another rmb 100 for the room i ask for! Another advise from me is do not dirty their linens. my self travelling with 2 young kids. the room is so so small i think the room size same size with king size bed. so i accidently dirt hotel linen. hotel ask me to pay rmb 200 if i am not able to clean the linen. luckily i brought soap powder. so manage to clean the stain. Dont stay here if u intend to stay because for the sake near to guangzhou east railway station!!! U will regret just like me!

The room was too small and cramped. The hotel has very suspicious environment, and bathroom/ toilet did not provide many of the essential things such as soap/ shampoo but had range of unnecessary sex related paraphernalias.

Close to GZ East Railway/Subway (3 minutes walking only) Bedroom with balcony. Cheap price with simple breadfast supplied. New shower room but there was blockage on its sewage The bed was hard while towels were dark in colour which we couldn't use. No cupboard for hanging clothes !

The Hotel Lilac Internation Hotel, Guangzhou

The hotel is very near to Gz East Railway Station together with Metro Line, very convenient for travellers taking the intercity railway from Hong Kong, Hung Hom Station, The food in GZ is good and price reasonably.
