Very clean room and the staff were lovely! Itâs in a great location (the pedestrian street), and the walk from the nearest metro station is safe and takes you past lots of cute street food spots. The moon bridge and some bars are very close by too. Breakfast was a great spread of various Chinese dishes, but if you miss that, itâs not far to get to Shamian Island and a bunch of other sights. Thereâs an all day vending machine to get simple snacks and drinks on site. The rooftop is really cute too - the staff will bring you a free pot of tea once a day. Decorations were lovely and tasteful, old Cantonese vibes. A great stay!
This hotel is right inside the Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Streetâstep out and turn right, and youâre surrounded by iconic old-school eateries! Tao Tao Ju and Chen Tian Jiâs fish skin are just a short walk away. Feeling hungry late at night? No problem, just head out for a quick bite. And the view from the 9th-floor rooftop? Absolutely stunning city lightsâitâs like staying inside a postcard. Best part? After a long day of exploring, youâre just five minutes from crashing in your room. Perfect for a lazy traveler like me.
For foodies and urban explorers, this location is absolutely perfect. Tucked away in a quiet alley of the Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street, youâre just steps away from legendary flavors: the delicate shrimp dumplings at Tao Tao Ju, the fragrant lotus seed buns at Lin Heung Lau, and the smooth, creamy double-layer milk pudding at Nam Sin. Spend your days wandering under the historic arcades, and your evenings savoring local delicacies. After dinner, take a leisurely stroll to Yongqing Fang to admire the iconic Moon Bridge. Every bit of the romantic old West Gate charm isnât just an ideaâitâs right outside your door.
I absolutely have to give this place a five-star review! From booking inquiries to check-in and check-out, every staff member wore a smile and offered help proactively. When the front desk found out it was our first time here, they warmly recommended local food spots and transportation routesâso thoughtful!
1) the hotel is clean and offers a good budget option for where it is.
2) the beds in our room were a bit too hard so we could not extend our stay because of it.
3) breakfast was included and was convenient to have.
4) no hooks or racks for clothing in the room so things are left on the floor. No hooks for towels either, so they end up being in a pile on the floor
5) Despite a âdo not disturbâ sign left, cleaning staff come in into the room.
For my first trip to Guangzhou, I really wanted to experience the authentic Xiguan style, and choosing this place definitely didn't disappoint. The hotel is tucked away in an old street, full of character. Following everyone's travel tips, I spent the day taking photos at Yongqing Fang, explored Shangxiajiu for food and shopping in the evening, and ended everything perfectly with a pot of tea on the rooftop. A perfectly planned day!
The staff were very courteous and available. And the subway, where you can go for a walk to yongvillage and sasha. The rooms are modern and clean, and at the top is a tea room with night vision equipment. Guangzhou is a real tourism day
This hotel left a very good impression on me. Its warm service and clean accommodation environment were reassuring. Most importantly, its location is extremely convenient. It allows easy access to Yongqingfang to experience the traditional Xiguan culture, and you can also explore Shangxiajiu anytime to sample authentic local delicacies. It is indeed an excellent accommodation choice.
A great choice for both value and comfort â I highly recommend this hotel for its excellent cost-performance! Its location is unbeatable, close to Hualin Temple Metro Station, making it super convenient to get to attractions like the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, Yongqing Fang, and Beijing Road. The hotel facilities are quite new and include a laundry room and a fitness center. The rooms are clean, bright, and the beds are very comfortable. The staff are friendly and responsive. Whether youâre traveling for leisure or business, this place meets all your needs perfectly.
The location is absolutely prime â it's right in the heart of Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street! Just step out, turn right, and walk straight to Yongqing Fang and the flagship Tao Tao Ju restaurant. You get the best of both worlds: the local vibe and the artsy charm of old Guangzhou. For travelers, saving time and energy is the ultimate win.
The viewing terrace on the tenth floor was such a pleasant surprise! Going up in the evening offers a breathtaking view â you can watch the lively traffic along the historic Shangxiajiu streets below while gazing out toward the distant city skyline. The scene is especially beautiful as the city lights begin to glow, making it a perfect spot to capture the charm of old Guangzhou. Best of all, itâs complimentary for guests â absolutely unbeatable value!
Foodies can't go wrong choosing this place! The hotel's location is basically a culinary hubâwithin walking distance, you'll find traditional snack streets in the old town as well as trendy creative restaurants. It's also super convenient to head to Yongqing Fang or Shamian Island for meals and shopping, and when you return in the evening, you can unwind in the hotel's cozy tea lounge. Plus, the rooms are modern and well-equipped, and the service is genuinely thoughtful.
