I will just start by saying the the staff were really friendly and accommodating, and that is about all I can positively say about the property. We payed a large amount for the room with river view, and were really disappointed to see that the river had old buildings surrounding it with a construction site right in front of our room. Room also had cobwebs on the ceiling and the breakfast buffet food was stale by the time we had come down to eat, I also noticed flies on some of the food, which is unacceptable for what they are charging.

Definitely a beautiful hotel. Staff were great and happy to assist. The room was very nice. However, the price paid I feel did not fully reflect in the experience. We stayed at other similar caliber hotels during our visit to Japan at half the price. This may have to do with the popularity of Hakone and less to do with the hotel itself. I would stay here again but not at the price point I booked at.

Excellent stay. Hotel so helpful and their shuttle bus from/to Odawara Station was perfect. Also they have a courtesy shuttle from hotel to Gora Station that you can use - just call and they are there within minutes. Lastly there is a sushi place across river from hotel that was the best ever.

Top tier hotel extremely customer focused. Great breakfast. We did not eat dinner there. Opted for a little brew pub Gora Brewery. Onsen was lovely

Recommend this property. I stayed in a riverside room. The private onsen was perfect and hearing the river water flow was very relaxing, plus the river colors are surreal. The breakfast buffet had lots of options between western and Japanese cuisine.

Such a relaxing experience! Rooms were clean and spacious. Beds were super comfy! Had to pay for breakfast buffet but it’s okay because it was worth it in my opinion. We had a private onsen with a beautiful view of the rivers and the mountains. The staff were incredible as well. Oh! And they provided shuttle buses to and from Odawara station. You also have the option to use their shuttle service to and from Gora station which was super convenient. I wish we stayed longer tbh! Highly recommend!

While the property was great, my one gripe about this property is that they will not let you do an early check in whatsoever without charging you $220 USD. So if you arrive at 11am expecting a room, tough beans - you better have plans in set or else you’re stuck waiting around the property without a room. I guess if you plan to do this anyway, it’s fine but we didn’t know and we had planned on spending most of our time in our private onsen. I think clear instruction on the website is needed.

Awesome property for an onsen experience. Love the public onsen requirement of bathing clothes. Hotel was spotless and staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was amazing with good variety with a barista making you anything you want was a huge bonus. Location is a bit further away from train station but the free private transfer to the hotel is such a huge benefit. Absolutely will stay again.
