Charming and Immaculate - Walkable to Beach and Town - Sleeps 10

We've provided all the comforts of home on 'The Garden Island' of Kauai, one of the world's most spectacular settings. This charmingly furnished house with traditional Hawaiiana decor and lanais is surrounded by a lush tropical garden. The house is perfect for multiple or extended families and features two deluxe master bedroom suites which include private en suite bathrooms and king beds. A standard master with a California King bed has a private bathroom and the two remaining bedrooms share a bathroom.

You will seldom need your car after arriving as both the beach and charming Hanalei Town are within walking distance with its excellent restaurants, lively night spots, and shopping. The house is at the end of a quiet cul de sac, away from traffic. Only a block and a half away is the world-famous, crescent-shaped Hanalei Bay, ranked by National Geographic Traveler as one of the top ten beaches in the world. This exceptional setting can only be reached over a quaint one lane bridge that connects beautiful taro fields to a lush rain forest.

We are strictly limited to ten guests of any age or size -- babies are not exempted, sorry.

This home is a vacation rental and guests should not expect the same amenities as at a hotel including toiletries, comestibles and other supplies. We start our guests off with some hand soap and toilet paper for their arrival but otherwise it is not practical to offer supplies for the duration of their stay.

Please note: The house does not have air conditioning. Like many homes in Hanalei, this house was designed to take advantage of Kauai’s natural breezes. Screened roof ventilation lets warm air flow upward and out, while ceiling fans in the bedrooms and/or additional portable fans are provided to keep the air moving. Most guests find that the fresh trade winds, combined with the home’s open design, create a true island-living experience.

We accept reservations up to one year in advance.

The residence is located in a tsunami inundation zone. In the event of a tsunami, evacuation information is posted in the residence.

For stays over 14 nights, guests will be charged 366.49, tax included, for a mid-stay clean.

The location is INCREDIBLE. It was the best location for a family. We were able to get up and have breakfast together and then head down to the beach with the freedom for any one of us to walk down and grab something to eat or head back to the house for a break from the sun. We could all do as we wanted without relying on one rental car taking all of us to one spot and everyone stuck with that spot for the day. The host was great at communicating, sending me all the information we needed, including a way to reach to the cleaners to coordinate check in. Just a great spot!

We had a wonderful stay, and hope to be back. The location is unbeatable -- 3 minutes to the beach and 5 minutes to Hanalei town by foot -- and we especially loved the large, equipped kitchen and the two enormous primary bedrooms with en suite bathrooms! This property is wonderful and a slice of “old” Kauai! It is equipped with great spaces for families. Kitchen is open format which was nice too.very short walk to the Hanalei Bay beach and was perfect for young children. I wish we could have stayed longer but we were there in a heatwave.

Excellent Hanalei Get Away

This was our second visit and we will be back again. Comfortable, relaxing, clean, fun property to stay at for our extended family. The 5 bedroom common areas layout worked great for three couples and 3 children. The property is a short walk to town and a shorter walk to the beach so you don't need to drive much at all. Kitchen was well equipped and the beds were plush! Overall two thumbs up.

60th Birthday Celebration

We had such a great time! Perfect location - close to beach and town. Plenty of space for our entire group! Manager communicated everything including the possibility of construction next door although it wasn't a bother for us at all. Would definitely recommend! Only thing the house was missing was AC but it had fans in every room and it cooled off pretty good each night.

Perfect location in Hanalei

The Taj Ma Hale was the perfect spot for our family gathering. The house had plenty of rooms for everyone and a nice yard to play in. It was a very short walk to the beautiful beach in Hanalei bay. Everything for us was in walking distance but we actually preferred staying home to cook our meals. We stayed 10 beautiful days and could have stayed much longer. We will definitely be back soon!

Very comfortable house, and a very short walk to the beach, perfect location for kids. Also short walk to town, perfect location for adults! House is well-equipped, great kitchen, house is laid out well for lots of people, with beautiful views out the back. Wonderful home in Hanalei... loved our stay!

We loved our stay at this fantastic home in Hanalei! The location is ideal... very short walk to the beach and easily walkable to town. Also, the view of the Na Pali mountains from the lanai is divine. The layout of the home worked perfectly for our family of 6 adults and could easily have accommodated a larger group. Communication with the host was terrific... thanks, Clark! We had a wonderful stay and would love to return on our next visit to Hanalei!

This is the BEST home, location, (walk 5 minutes to beach), kitchen was so well stocked with every kitchen item you could need. Two king sweets, Queen with it's own bath that the 17 year old loved. Two more bedrooms sharing a bath. Out door patio fantastic for dinner. Just a wonderful home and location. You will love this home if you are looking for walk ability to Hanalei.

Fantastic stay!

Our family and young kids had a great stay at the Taj! Perfect layout for family with different age kids/adults, as two of the bedrooms are isolated from the smaller kid rooms.. Nice walk to town and beach. Property manager available promptly for any issues. Highly recommend!

Celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary in this lovely, immaculate, comfortable home. The kitchen is fully outfitted with everything you could need. Spacious bathrooms. Close walk to the beach and village. Darling interior decor - vintage Hawaiian pieces! We will definitely return!
