This property was exhilarating! From the outside you would never know such beauty lies within! The open-air courtyard is an inviting common area with a small pond with fish and a turtle. The rocking chairs and tropical plants surrounded by ancient stone walls and 20-foot ceilings are relaxing. Each room is refreshed with renovation and restoration and graced by stunning glass chandeliers.
Original artefacts and antiques are everywhere as though you have stepped back in time to a period of long lost luxury, class and pride. The stunning furniture, chairs, tables, armoires, cabinets, mirrors and piano are seemingly as they were left when this was a family home 100 years ago.
The wifi was pay for a day, very affordable at only $1 but only available in the courtyard. My older cellphone couldn't locate the network but my tablet was able to do so.
Every morning there was a simple but fresh buffet breakfast available for a fee, but coffee, juices (pineapple, guava or papaya) and water was free to guests.
The front desk staff were exceptional and provided assistance and full service arrangements for any activity or destination. They all spoke at least some English, as well as French with a few other languages, so there is always the ability to communicate well with someone if your Spanish is limited.
Our check-in host Greece was very helpful in every way.
We had the Library Room, which was like a museum, filled with antiquities, art and books to appreciate without touching.
