Down the Hill Cottage

Welcome to Down the Hill Cottage, your ultimate home away from home that is located on Barbados' Platinum Coast....the West Coast!
Enjoy the huge, serene and secure grounds that this property is located on. We have a very large swimming pool with a "beach" area for sunbathing in the water, should you not want to take the short stroll to the actual beach. There is an outdoor shower near the pool to wash off before or after swimming or visits to the beach.
Relax into our well appointed 2 bed, 2 bath home with a comfortable lounge room and TWO large verandas. We have one veranda set up as an outdoor lounge area and one set as a dining area, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful Barbados weather during all meals!
The fruit trees invite regular visits from the monkeys that live in the area.
We are a 4 minute walk to a large Massy Supermarket and a 24 hour petrol station with a store, and just a 5 minute walk to the beach in Holetown.
It is also a short 2 minute walk to Limegrove and all its shopping and restaurants that there is to offer.

We have Electric gates which ensure simple access and security for the covered car area.

Checkin is not permitted without the full Security Deposit of ÂŁ1,000 being paid. We pre-authorise your card 1 day before check-in. For cash deposits, please let us know at the time of booking. All guests are required to sign the inventory list on arrival and departure.

Check in easy. Lex picked us up from airport, did villa intro/check in. Outside space the best we have ever had. Lived outside - great pool, space around whole bungalow; covered terrace huge and lived there. Hardly used inside space. Kitchen very well equipped; ice dispenser very useful too. Easy/responsive comms with Liz (host) for any queries. Location perfect - quiet but so close to everything. We really enjoyed it. We were two couples.

Me and my husband stayed here last year for 18 nights and had an anazing time. This year we came back with our Son, Daughter in law and our 6 month old twin granddaughters for 4 weeks. We love everything about this wonderful villa. Its location is fantastic for us as we love Holetown. Liz has everything you could possibly need in her place she really has thought of everything. We had a huge amount of rain on our 4th night there which unfortunately caused the pool to become unusable and it flooded the gardens, veranda etc! Liz, her husband Curt and their amazing team of people arrived 1st thing and worked so hard to clear everything up for us. The communication was outstanding and Liz even tried to get to us but got stuck herself in the process! Any issues we had ( there were only 2) were sorted out immediately. The twins enjoyed the pool as did we all its pefect. We hired a car and saw the whole island even visited Liz & Curts new venture "The Nothing Box" on the east coast in St Margarets which is amazing and a must see. Our 4 weeks were spent between the beach and the pool, when we didnt have the car, both of which we loved so much. We will be booking to stay again next year maybe not for 4 weeks as this was a special occasion for my husbands 60th birthday. We all felt right at home here and didnt want to leave. Thank you again Liz & Curt and all your team for making our stay a memorable one we will see you all again next year 🥰

Gorgeous property and area

We (family of 3) spent 9 nights at the fantastic Down the Hill Cottage and would recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Barbados. Liz was incredibly helpful answering all our questions about the Villa and the area as well as providing us with lots of local contacts for excursions. The Villa was just a dream.....amazing pool, outdoor lounging areas, lovely gardens and everything you need inside. It's 5 mins walk to Holetown Beach which is stunning and the Holetown area was lovely too, so much so we didn't venture that far. Cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you Liz (and Little Lex) for giving us the dream holiday we were after.

1st experience of self catering in barbados

Wow, fabulous property, fantastic host, it was everything we wanted and more! Amazing location. Pool is Huge and fabulous. Outside space just brilliant. Liz is amazing and was on hand to answer any questions. She even had a xmas tree delivered for us to enjoy. We will definitely book again!
