This was a lovely hotel. The staff were friendly, room was large and always kept clean by staff. Breakfast was of a high quality and had plenty of choice. Didn’t get to try dinner or the spa/fitness areas but I can imagine based on the rest of the experience these will be great too.

6/10 Okay

Disliked: Staff & service
Honest review here… I found the usual housekeeping and such to be good, they would be around till late. However, the staff weren’t as helpful as they could have been. The coffee downstairs was terrible if you’re a coffee enjoyer. Despite saying no smoking, it’s all you could smell on some of the floors. TV is extremely small so be aware of that, and it’s limited in channels. Soundproofing isn’t the best, they could improve that. Gym is underground with not very good ventilation, I could do one session and that’s it. I’ve been to better hotels in Istanbul.

Istanbul Gonen hotel is at a very convenient Location for a visitor. Starcity outlet Mall with a food court is across the road. Underground Metro station is 15 minutes walking away. File grocery is 5 minutes walking distance. Mall of Istanbul is 6 stations away from Metro. M9 train. Takes 15 minutes. DOGU Sanayi is the Metro station closet to the Istanbul Gonen hotel. I went from New York to Gonen hotel. I did not have any problem staying there. Safe and clean hotel. My advice for non turkish speaking. DO NOT TAKE YELLO TAXI. Take Metro trains. Safer and least expensive. Starcity outlet Mall food court is the best. Avoid outside restaurants. They see tourists they raise their prices 3 times. I would definitely recommend Istanbul Gonen hotel .

Spa staff don’t properly speak Turkish that’s why I write my comment in English, make sure they can understand! They are also not skilled in English though. Not helpful, not showing interest. I shared with hotel about my disappointment, hotel proposed to compensate bad service the day after and I accepted apology. But it was even worse, made me waited 45 min for a call in the room and eventually of course I rejected anything after that moment. So in total 2 nights were full of stress and disappointment. It was an experience I don’t recommend to anyone, run by amateurs.
