Highly Recommend!

Highly recommend the Sultanhan Hotel! We were totally unfamiliar with Istanbul, so we took a chance on this booking and it worked out wonderfully. The location is as stated, walking distance to major destinations, including the Grand Bazaar and Blue Mosque, lots of shops and restaurants nearby, but the hotel itself is on a pretty quiet street and we felt safe in the area. Decent sized room, very clean, great breakfast in the top floor restaurant with amazing views--seriously, no complaints. The staff was very helpful with everything including how to use the excellent (and very close) public transportation, recommendations on things to do, and getting us back to the airport efficiently and relatively cheaply. Istanbul itself was amazing! The public transportation is cheap, easy to use and dependable. The sights are beautiful; I especially enjoyed our Bosphorus Cruise. Would go back in a heartbeat!

The hotel is located in a quiet tree lined road and is close to all attractions and many restaurants and bars. The hotel was comfortable but would benefit from a general refurbishment in some areas, especially the dining room. It lacked some basic finishing touches for us but this would not put us off staying here again at a good price. The staff were kind, attentive and went above and beyond to help us and proved to be excellent ambassadors for the hotel. I would recommend this hotel without a doubt, although paper cups for the fruit juice at breakfast was a little disappointing. Thank you to all of the staff, especially our housekeeper who was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Her personality shone through and she cleaned our room to a very high standard!

Great central location, few minutes walk to Sultanhamet tram stop and walking distance to historical sites Blue mosque, bascilica cistern, topkapi etc. Quiet location just off the bustling main thoroughfare. Clean rooms, good air conditioning in stifling heat of summer. Lovely views from restaurant floor and nice breakfast with lots of choice. Wonderful hidden coffee shop just across road through graveyard frequented by locals.

This hotel, with lovely and attentive staff, is located so centrally that we were able to walk to most places with our two toddlers. Breakfast was served with a breathtaking view of the local sites. The room was excellent for us a family of four. The cleaning staff and hotel staff in general were excellent. The experience in the hotel was the best personal experience. 10/10

I was deeply disappointed by the way my niece was treated by the front desk agent. If the hotel has a policy regarding guests receiving visitors or meeting family members in their rooms, it should be communicated clearly, courteously, and with professionalism. Unfortunately, the agent’s tone and demeanor were unnecessarily rude and demeaning, making hurtful and inappropriate assumptions. For an upscale hotel, I expected a far higher standard of respect and customer service. Additionally, I had sent an email prior to my arrival with an inquiry and never received a response, which added to my frustration and sense of being disregarded as a guest. Upon check-in, the room assigned to us was not accessible—even the front desk agents were unable to open the door—which was both disappointing and surprising. For a hotel of this caliber, I expected a smoother and more responsive experience.
