Coastal Blue #2 - Updated Amelia Island Townhouse Steps to the Sand

Come enjoy an Amelia Island getaway at our recently updated 2 Bed/1.5 Bath Townhouse! Our budget-friendly bungalow is located just 1/4 mile from Main Beach and 2 miles from the historic downtown Fernandina Beach. Plus, Ft. Clinch State Park and Egan's Creek Greenway are a short bike ride away! Our townhouse, named Coastal Blue #2, is truly convenient to everything the island has to offer - and best of all, beach access is just a short walk across the street!

Situated close enough to the shoreline to hear the waves at night, our townhouse has been recently updated including new furniture, flooring, and upgrades in the kitchen and bathrooms. From the lower level guests enter the living room, which offers comfortable seating and a large flat screen TV. The dining area seats four and is right next to the renovated kitchen featuring new appliances and counter tops. From the downstairs level, guests also have access to the laundry room with a washer and a dryer.

Both bedrooms are on the upstairs level. In the primary bedroom, guests will enjoy the comfortable king mattress and flat screen TV. There is also private deck access from the primary bedroom.

The second bedroom offers two twin beds and clothing storage. The main bathroom on the second level has a tub/shower combination and a vanity with extra counter space. Guests are provided all fresh bed linens and bath linens, including beach towels.

Dogs are considered but they must be approved by management. There are size and breed restrictions, and guests must agree to certain terms and conditions. A $150 nonrefundable pet fee will be required and guests must sign the pet agreement. If the pet fee is not automatically applied at booking, it will be after the reservation is created. Note that dogs must be current on all vaccinations, be house broken, be spayed or neutered, and must be sociable with people and other dogs.

Clean and close to the beach!

Had everything we needed besides food and drinks! Well stocked kitchen and bathrooms, even had some beach stuff to use. And 5 min walk to the beach. Just what i wanted for a chill weekend!

Ladies short getaway

The property was reasonably priced and had the amenities of a home. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. We only stayed two nights, so we did not get a chance to use the kitchen or laundry room. But, I would come back for a longer stay. Fernandina Beach has nature, shops, and great restaurants. Our group biked, ate, and had lots of cocktails! On our drive out we stopped at the local thrift stores, always fun!

First the good - nice little kitchen, good location - easy walk to public beach access, easy drive to Fort Clinch State Park or Fernandina Beach, easy check in, nice to have the half bath on the lower level. Now the bad - the beds feel pretty old and are very soft, the building is turned so while the upstairs deck is nice you are at a 90 degree angle to the beach so it is hard to get a view, the cleaning service left a pile of dirt behind the front door - like they swept up and then forgot to get it. The rest of the house appeared pretty clean. The stairs to the second floor are very steep and carpeted which makes them slippery, not a deal breaker but if someone in your party has limited mobility please keep this in mind. Overall it was fine though maybe a bit expensive for what you get.

Good and Bad

The good points- location, size of living area n bedrooms, laundry room big w outside entrance keeps sand in control, they allow dogs, good parking. The kitchen appliances were in very good condition n the furniture was good. AC worked great! Fan over table n in bedrooms was great. The bad points: unit was dirty I had to clean when we arrived. The dog urine odor was intense! There are these little spiky balls n there was a ton stuck to the LR rug and stairs- they seriously hurt like hell when u step on them. Under the couch and tv stand was full of dust n the fridge had a pink liquid inside and under the draws. Only 4 bath towels but a bunch of floor mats- I think they confused them. Only one set of bed sheets.The beach towels were plenty so it worked out. Only one adult beach chair n one child chair. The chairs in a tote outside were rusty messes. They give a couple of toilet paper rolls n two paper towels plus a handful of laundry pods but no other dry goods or spices etc- which they don’t have to do, however, we rented for a month so it would have been nice to have something like spices n tin foil- maybe I’m just used to places that consider a long term stay needs vs a weekenders needs. Wifi constantly disconnecting making remote work a challenge. We won’t stay again since we go for a month n I work remotely plus I’d need to bring more sheets, towels etc. when I contacted the manager about the situation they said they confirmed the housekeeper did a walk through n it was clean. Oh well! But they do allow dogs so that’s great!

They said it was waterfront beach property it wasn't

the windows and blinds were so dirty you coulld not see out them and they also advertised it was on the beach it was not. You had to walk at lest 200yrds or more and then cross the street before you even got to the beach access was not worth the money I paid for the whole week and they charged you a cleanining fee what for you did the cleaning your self.
