A little underwhelming

A little underwhelming, it's a nice enough hotel, but it's a little dated, the bed was very squeaky and not very large and we weren't impressed with the way we were greeted. First time travelling with our 4 month old so I forgot to put them on the reservation (that's on me for sure) but rather than an understanding, accommodating welcome, we were greeted with an dismissive, accusatory tone that I would not expect from a 5 star establishment that cost over R2000/night. They didn't set up a cot or anything, unlike other hotels that we stayed with on this trip who understand the pressure of travelling with small children and were incredibly accommodating. I'd say this hotel is not bad, but you could get a lot more for your money elsewhere. Finally, it isn't the hotel's fault, but there are a ridiculous number (at least 10 depending on the roads in) of large speed bumps on all roads that lead to the hotel which is just a bit of a pain.

This is a 5 star quaint property. We loved it and would highly recommend it to all! It was by far the nicest place we have stayed in during our travels. It is small but wonderful! Book it and you won’t be disappointed!!

Good overall

Busy at breakfast and forgot about me. Was sitting there for a while before they remembered. I had to then remind them about the toast! Able to stay by the pool and. Leave bags after check out and make a cup of tea. Otherwise a good stay- friendly and clean.

Delightful.

Really friendly with good advice. Comfortable and roomy with a good shower. Easy Uber to Sandton and Rosebank. Sebo and all staff were more than friendly and went out of their way to help. Decided to go back at the end of the week as it was so easy on Gautrain from the airport.

Good stay, small things can improve.

Room needs general maintenance. Bath fitting leaking when trying to switch on shower attachment. Ceiling cornices in rooms need touching up. Kitchen arrangement not 100% clear. Dining table leg is loose. Parking lots should be better controlled, other guests park incorrectly and rob others the chance of undercover parking.

Must stay over many 100 dollar hotels/Airbnbs

Been in Joburg a few times for business and normally try AirBnBs. This was well above any experience I have had any previous stay. It is incredible for the price and the best perks in my opinion are not a lot rooms, heated floors, good gate system and the service was amazing. I was met at the entrance and they addressed me by name. Many people don't rent cars due to most being stick, steering wheel on the other side and driving on the other side so being able to easily call uber and ubereats though the gate is a god send.

Having stayed at a chain hotel in Johannesburg earlier in our trip, I was eager to see how different the bed and breakfast route might be. I was not disappointed at all. This was so much better. The property is beautiful and the staff so friendly. The room was surprisingly big for the same price as the hotel. The fact that you get breakfast on top of it (continental or cooked for you) puts it over the top. I would very happily stay here again.

Home away from home.

Amazing accommodation would highly recommend this place. All the rooms are big modern and clean. I’ve stayed here twice now and when in joburg I wouldn’t stay anywhere else now. It has a very homely feel. Jackie the owner is lovely and super friendly.
