Experience the ultimate Big Island getaway in unit B 238, a premier oceanfront corner suite at Casa de Emdeko. Situated just 30 feet from the shoreline, this is one of the few places where the rhythm of the Pacific becomes the soundtrack to your stay.

The Highlight: Massive Outdoor Living
While most condos offer a small balcony, B238 features a 700 sq. ft. wrap-around L-shaped lanai. This is your private front-row seat for:

* Whale watching and dolphin spotting directly from your lounge chair.

* Each evening, watch the sky ignite in color and listen to the haunting call of the pū (conch shell) as locals mark the end of another beautiful day.

* Al fresco dining with the salt spray and tropical breeze.

* Tucked into the corner of the lanai is a custom-built, plush punee—the ultimate Hawaiian sanctuary where you can lose yourself in a novel or drift into a salt-air nap just feet above the breaking waves.

Sophisticated Island Comfort
Inside, you’ll find 1,288 sq. ft. of thoughtfully designed tropical living space:

Recent Upgrades:

The Social Kitchen: Elegant quartz bartops with stylish barstools, making it easy to enjoy a glass of wine or a Mai Tai while chatting with the cook.

Whether you’re brewing your first cup of morning Kona coffee or whipping up a fresh local catch, you’ll find every pot, pan, and utensil you need for a true 'home-away-from-home' experience." May 2026: Brand new countertops, new microwave, and new range.

Stay Connected: High-speed Wi-Fi included for remote work or streaming.

Casa de Emdeko Amenities
* This gated complex offers a "resort-style" feel with quiet, residential charm:

* Two Pools: Choose between the ocean-side saltwater pool or the garden-side freshwater pool.

* Private Sandy Beach: Perfect for sunbathing without leaving the property.

* Oceanfront Cabana: Features gas BBQs and dining tables—ideal for sunset cookouts.

* On-Site Convenience: A mini-mart, liquor store, and even a salon/massage shop are right at the front of the complex.

* Convenient gated parking.

The Perfect Location
You are just 1.5 miles from the heart of Kailua-Kona village. Enjoy a scenic stroll or a 3-minute drive to world-class dining, vibrant shopping, and historic sites, then retreat back to your quiet oceanfront sanctuary.

A Note on Island Cooling
To maintain the vintage charm of the property, Casa de Emdeko utilizes a central "chilled water" cooling system. This provides a gentle reduction in temperature rather than "ice-cold" modern A/C. For the best experience, we recommend closing windows/doors when the system is on, or simply opening the sliders to let the famous Kona cross-breezes flow through the unit.

Your Host
When not enjoying the beauty of Hawaii, your host Phil Washburn can be found at Celebration Ranch in Roseburg, Oregon. We take pride in providing a clean, welcoming, and unforgettable "home away from home" for our guests.

This condo was the perfect place to have a small get together with friends and enjoy the ocean views. My friends and I had a lovely time together. We had dinner on the lanai, movie night and a delightful breakfast. The space isn’t huge but the view was spectacular and made the smaller space totally worth it.

The view was everything! Jill was a lovely host and great communicator. The unit was spacious and clean, with lovely new appliances in the well stocked kitchen. There is a coffee grinder coffeemaker as well as a Keurig. Appreciated the Brita in the fridge. The building itself is older and the proximity to the ocean creates a salty mist that causes corrosion, which explained some of the reviews. Overall, we thought it was clean and well kept given the climate. We didn’t have power for a good part of 1 day because of scheduled tree work which we didn’t know about until a couple days before we arrived and the saltwater pool was also closed because of high waves, so we had to stay flexible. But we LOVED our stay and felt very blessed to be there!!!

First, let me just say that the online photos don’t even do justice to how beautiful this rental is. The lanai is everything! We had breakfast on it every morning and spent most of our time watching outriggers sail by and we even spotted a few dolphins! What an experience! The kitchen and bathrooms were stocked with everything you could possibly need. The owner’s communication was thorough and prompt. Would love to stay here again!

This unit is amazing! The wrap around deck and huge living room make it feel extremely spacious. The kitchen had everything we needed and access to the complex and unit was smooth. The waves crashing could be heard all day and night and it was the best view for the sunset! We would absolutely rent this place again :)

This condo is beyond amazing. The lanai is the best part. We enjoyed sitting out everyday and listening to the ocean. I staked claim of the daybed. It was the first place I went upon waking. Everything was clean and fully stocked. The property was very quiet. Parking was plenty and rarely did we have to park at the front of the property. We did go in the off season. The only complaint I have about the place was the small curtain in the queen size room. The light from outside shines into the room. Once you fall asleep it doesn't matter but getting to sleep for me took a bit because of the light. Bring a sleep mask and it won't be a problem. If we ever make it back to the Big Island I will be booking again. I absolutely loved it.

The host was very amenable and allowed us to check in a few hours earlier due to an early flight from Maui. Location was 10 minutes to some of the best snorkeling in Kona and 10 minutes to a lot of nice restaurants. However, on more than one occasion we ordered takeout for breakfast or lunch and ate on the large balcony with a gorgeous ocean view.
