Emergency Procedures
We are glad to say that in our 16 years of ownership of this property, we have not experienced any damage from a Hurricane or Tsunami at this location. It is good practice, however, to have an emergency plan in place as this property is located in a Tsunami Evacuation Zone. Please see the map below which details the preferred routes and emergency locations for both Hurricane and Tsunami Warnings. In essence, Hurricane Shelter is provided at the Kekaha Neighborhood Center, one block West; and in case of Tsunami Warning, local residents drive up the close by Highway 552 towards Waimea Canyon / Koke`e Park. Most experts say that once you are at least 100 feet above sea level, you are out of Tsunami danger. This can be accomplished in approximately a five-minute drive from the house. Large house with plenty of room for 10 adults to enjoy time together as well as alone. We could not have found a better location for a 3 generation trip! The house was equipped with everything we needed for beach outings, cooking and generally relaxing! We lucked out with not only a lovely view of he ocean but we also saw lots of whales!Our hosts were readily available but not intrusive. We loved the beach updates of where seals and turtles could be seen!The proximity to uncrowded beaches was a definite plus and finding the coffee shop "Milk and Honey" within walking distance was a highlight that should not be missed.If we decide not to explore another island on our next trip to Hawaii, we will be returning to Hale La.

Great Stay!

Our stay at this VRBO in Kauai was absolutely perfect! The location was stunning—so close to the ocean that we could hear the waves and enjoy breathtaking sunsets every evening. The home itself was spacious and well-equipped, comfortably accommodating our large group with plenty of room to relax.The host was fantastic—she responded quickly to all our messages and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, even providing folding chairs and a tent for the park. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, making our stay stress-free and enjoyable.We would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Kauai, and if we ever return, we wouldn’t hesitate to book it again!

The house was amazing! We had a group of eight adults, and there was still room for children if necessary. The owners were awesome and I can’t thank them enough for our stay. The Ocean View and patio was just perfect for us. We preferred a desolate side of the island, and this was great. Thank you for our stay, we will be back!

The view of the ocean from the patio was amazing so was the outdoor areas but the inside of the house not so great. Bathrooms/toilets old and dirty. Dishwasher didn’t work and all the pillows were old and dirty.

Kauai Vacation

This location is amazing. We have 7 people in our party and the accomodations were fitting for everyone. The patio faces out towards the ocean and it is an amazing view. We did have to drive about 45 mins to our excursions, but it was well worth it. The property owners are amazing and stayed easily accessible during my entire trip. 10/10 would recommend this location if you plan on making a trip to Kauai.

Great views of the Pacific. Quiet side of the island. Within driving distance of everything. Nice great room and good size bedrooms. Communication with owner was great. If there were any issues or questions they responded quickly. Overall a great place to stay and i would again if visiting Kauai.

Amazing property

This property exceeded our expectations!!! House was huge, clean and filled with everything we needed for the week. The kids loved their personal little beds. Views of the beach were amazing and sunsets were perfect walking distance. Owner was very responsive and helpful in all aspects. They went above a beyond. Overall amazing time spent there. Can’t wait to come back for more!
