Despite the bustling resort town of Chaweng just ten minutes away from the beach and the popular tourist spot Big Buddha just five minutes by car, the local area has remained quiet and tranquil, offering an ideal spot to relax and unwind.

Watersport fans will not be disappointed with the range of options available. Why not hire a kayak and paddle across to the pretty islet of Koh Fan Noi, just offshore from Choeng Mon Beach? Or, if you are looking for a little more adrenaline-fuelled fun, then there are jet-ski’s, banana boats and paragliding available.

Guests can choose from the bustling hub of Chaweng Beach with its vibrant beach scene, shopping centre and range of eateries or, by contrast, the peace and serenity of Koh Small, an uninhabited beach with crystal clear waters, perfect for a spot of snorkelling and a fantastic spot to watch the sunset. Chaweng has a street market on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday where you can sample local food and purchase a range of local produce in a truly authentic Thai market.   Whilst ten minutes away by car is Central Festival Samui, a large shopping centre where you can pick up souvenirs, groceries and those forgotten holiday essentials.

Soak up the local culture with a visit to Big Buddha Temple just five minutes from your holiday home. Marvel at the 12-metre tall gilded Buddha, set on its own island connected by a causeway. Dating back to the 1970s, this striking sight is a star attraction on Koh Samui, as an important religious landmark, so tourists are reminded to wear respectful clothing and follow the appropriate rules on footwear within the temple grounds. Climbing the stairs in the midday heat is not recommended, with sunset being the best time to enjoy this stunning setting at its best.
