My family of four lived here for five weeks. Ron was a stellar host and the house was fully stocked and totally prepared for a long term stay. The inside of the cabin has great style with comfortable furniture and modern, high quality amenities. The lake was perfect for our kids playing in the water and for my hobby fishing. I found the best place to fish was taking the canoe to the right of the dock in the small river that connects to the lake. My wife spent hours on the back porch and dock reading and enjoying peace and quiet, fresh air and the sounds of the forest. We got all of our books from the Royston, Hartwell and Lavonia library system for free, and also did lots of the activities provided (for free) at those libraries. If you get cabin fever and need to stretch your legs, I recommend getting an annual state park pass and doing morning walks on the 3.8 mile blue trail at Tugaloo that is about 7 minute car ride away. It took my 8 and 11 year old and myself 2 hours with 4-5 small breaks. Start at 8 am and it is perfect temp. Trail has a few small slopes but is generally easy. The fishing poles, kayaks and canoe were really nice and it was a pleasure to keep up with them and also teach my kids how to manage them. We hope to be back in a few years time!
