The hotel attendant/receptionist was so cheerful and friendly upon arrival and during checkout. Our room was beautiful and very large. It was a bit odd that the room did not have a safe deposit box (or at least we couldn't find one).
We did not use the pool, but the pool appeared very large and there was a hot tub available. The decor both inside the room and the rest of the hotel appears updated.
We ate dinner in their lounge/bar area. The food was good, but the service was very very slow. When we received our check, we had someone else's food listed on it so it took even longer to cash out because that had to be fixed first.
We had breakfast from their buffet, at a cost of approx. 15 euro. The food was good and it was very convenient.
One downside is that our hotel rooms were not actually within the hotel building. We had to exit the hotel and go across the parking lot. We were fortunate to have great weather so it wasn't an issue, but had it been raining, it would have been inconvenient to walk back to the other building for breakfast or dinner.
Overall, I'd be happy to stay at Castletroy again and would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the Limerick area.

The staff was so friendly. The property and room were in pristine condition. Perfect place for our home base as we honeymooned in Ireland!
