This looks like it used to be a super spot but is now sadly rather run down. There is no one to great you, just a key with a note saying your room number. Despite a board outside advertising fish and chips, the bar/restaurant were both closed when we were there. The room was very dated with an avocado bathroom suite, a radiator on full blast that you couldn't turn off (middle of summer) a hot tap that doesn't turn on and a cold tap that runs hot brown water before coming through clear! However, the room was a good size and very clean, with plenty of fluffy white towels and heavy curtains that kept the light out in the early morning. For the one night that we needed it, it was fine, but I probably wouldn't stay for any length of time as there are no amenities close by so you have to drive for anything you need, breakfast, dinner etc.

Th hotel has 90’s decor a mix of poor styles, no breakfast and shut the bar early although staff drinking just not the public. Photo on websites made me think I was getting something better your not. Mouse in hallway’s and in bedroom I had to remove it.

Tired, expensive and terrible shower.

The hotel is in a fantastic and beautiful location. It was a bit tired and the Family room was chintzy. Our shower didn’t get anywhere near warm and the towels were clean but rough. The hotel bar closed at 9:30 on a Friday night. The cost was relatively high but didn’t include a breakfast and was too far outside Llangollen to walk.

Location near to Llangollen is good but surrounding restaurants were closed so we had to drive into town for a meal as options at the hotel were very limited. Heating on all night in the room and no way of turning it off which made for an uncomfortable nights sleep.

Very picturesque, great location and views but very dirty, had to clean the bath before it could be used as was grimy and full of hair, clearly hadn’t even been rinsed. Bed linen was spotless and bed comfy though

*Says 4 minute walk to llangollen but its more like a 45 minute walk *broken glass on bathroom floor, fire alarm going off through the night, was told by staff at checkin at 4pm that food had stopped being served yet an hour later they were serving another couple wit food, room was so dusty and dirty very old and dated, also was advertising breakfast yet no one was there the next morning to do breakfast. Only good thing about this hotel was thr stunning views across rhr countryside.. not worth ÂŁ70 a night

Beautiful setting. Woke up to the cows mooing. Decor dated and pleasant. Many cobwebs in the room, light shade and ceiling and walls. Warm, cosy and TV available. Tea and coffee in the room. A biscuit or 2 may have been a nice welcome after a long day. Value for money. Pleasant and friendly staff.

Surprisingly decent!

Very impressed. Stayed for 1 night with my 8 year old son as a stopover on the way to Snowdonia. By far the cheapest hotel I could find in the local area, so expectations were low. Impressed though at the hotel, friendly staff at check-in, decent rooms and surprisingly comfy bed! Only downsides - the walls seemed rather thin, the angry man in the next room having an argument with someone on the phone was heard rather clearly(!) and shower lacked much pressure. But all in all, for a cheap night as a stopover it was perfect. Thanks!

Very clean, calm area, kettle, tea and coffee in the room, enough towels. But the postcode was incorrect, hotel reception didn’t answer phone to guide me. They were not allowing food in the room.
