Modern holiday flat with wonderful sea views from the terrace. Just a few minutes from the centre with many leisure activities. Lloret de Mar on the Costa Brava is one of the most sought-after holiday destinations in Spain. Many of the beaches have been awarded the Blue Flag for their excellent water quality, environmental protection of the surrounding nature, clean beaches and services. The beaches are located in the typical coves of the Costa Brava, surrounded by cliffs that drop steeply to the sea and beautiful pine forests that characterise the charm of this landscape. Lloret de Mar offers a wide range of activities for the whole family, such as cycling tours, diving centres, water skiing, jet skiing, parasailing, banana boating, Nordic walking and mountain biking. The region is known for its good wines and Mediterranean cuisine. Of course, all night owls also get their money's worth here, as the many beach bars, clubs and discos ensure a party atmosphere. Everyone can try their luck at the Gran Casino. Only about 40 minutes from Figueras, DalĂ's home town, where the museum of the same name is located. Approx. 1 hour from the city of Barcelona, which is ideal for a day trip with its countless sights, and around 1.5 hours by car from the famous Port Aventura theme park.
After hours of traveling from CanadaI I arrived in Barcelona on April 9th. Met my friend and we proceeded to Lloret de Mar by rental car. I had this unit booked for one week. We relied on our GPS which unfortunately took us through downtown Barcelona at rush hour. We corresponded with Isabella and told her the time we hoped to arrive. We were going to be a âfewâ minutes late. Isabel was continusly calling wanting to know âwhen we would arriveâ as she was closing her office at 6pm. We arrived in Lloret de Mar a few minutes before 6 when we get a call from her to say âI am closing you come back at 9amâ. We panicked...I said wait, wait weâre almost there! As we pulled into the parking lot I ran barefoot to her office afraid she was going to lock the door and leave us stranded for the night...luckily she was just closing. This was stressful.
We had a week of constant problems with this unit which I will share.
On the positive side I will say the unit is clean and is in a great location with a direct view of the sea.
Negative - when you arrive you have costs which must be paid in CASH. 20⏠per person for towels and bed linen. You are given one small towel and one larger towel each. The bed linen is of poor quality. Thereâs NO toilet paper or soap in the unit when you arrive. There is a small washer, no dryer. We had no way to wash and dry our only towel and they remained wet all week.
The bathroom closest to the kitchen smells like sewer gas. We had to keep that door shut and use the other bathroom.
The week we arrived was unfortunately very cool and rained a lot. The units only source of heat is 2 electric floor heaters. We almost froze to death. As well the water shut off completely one day. I called Isabell and she sent over a man to fix it and he brought another heater. It was still cold. The beds have only a sheet and light spread on top.
There is a problem with the units electrical system. You cannot cook breakfast with anything else on in the unit or the breaker will shut off the power. It was impossible to stay warm and cook too.
One night it rained very hard. In the morning the complete floor in front of the patio doors was flooded. One of the heaters was sitting in water. Could have been a bad situation.
The only place to park is in an underground parking lot. It costs 60⏠per week.
We left the unit a day early. I called Isabell and asked if we could be refunded a day as we couldnât stay there another night. She said No.
