You can dine within these stylish surroundings or al fresco on the terrace under a large shaded pergola, swagged with voiles, perhaps enjoying pizza made from the wood-burning oven. The grounds are huge and enclosed and will make a natural playground for any children in your party. A ping-pong table, a 5-a-side football field, two hammocks and plenty of deckchairs mean that everyone can, should they wish, find a place to retreat to. There is also the large private pool to enjoy, with another shaded and furnished pergola, from where there are more views of the surrounding mountains.

Our Thoughts

Residenza al Principe is a superb choice for a family or large group, offering plenty of space as well as several inviting locations for social gatherings. The property has had a contemporary makeover, which is to an extremely high standard, so this place is very easy on the eye and set among aesthetically pleasing lawns, dotted with cypress trees and shrubs. When you come to explore, you will find the delightful medieval city of Lucca just a short distance away.

Notes

Five bedrooms, five bathrooms, three en-suite. The property is in a quiet spot, located at the end of a good road, the last 200m of which are unpaved. The garden is surrounded by a hedge. While not all rooms have wardrobes or drawers, there is ample storage space for clothing in adjacent halls and corridors. Bedroom 4 has a skylight rather than windows. Bedroom 5 has a private but not en-suite bathroom. There’s a ping-pong table onsite.
