The price was reasonable with a location close to a walking trail and restaurants. The rooms were humid, there were bugs in the rooms, and I was unable to get housekeeping even when I requested it. Because I was told the room would be serviced, I was surprised when I returned and I had to go find towels for the next day. I was then told housekeeping would not be in until the next day despite a housekeeping cart being in the hallway near another room.

The front desk agent named Nick was terse and blunt. He would constantly interrupt me while I was talking. The reservation system only showed a single night when our confirmation was for two. He initially told us we would need to change rooms after the first night. Then he entered our room at 1030 at night to tell me I hadn't payed for the second night. This upset my wife terribly. I ended up having to go to the lobby at that hour to pay for the second night stay. He threatened to call the police. He called his manager, and I had to ask them rwice to speak in English so I understoid what they were saying, all while on speaker. The manager insisted he would be in the next morning by 9 AM and would apply a discount to our entire stay for our troubles. We checked out at 1030 AM, and the staff told me he wasnt sure when his manager might stop in, even calling his cell number with no answer. We reached out twice but never heard back from the manager. Nick went so far as to say his paycheck would be docked if the books were not handled properly. We will never again stay at a Microtel lication.

My grandson was injured due to the microwave being on a low shelf and the microwave was NOT secured! He received several cuts from the plate crashing to the floor, there were shards of glass everywhere! I am just thankful that it didn't require an emergency room visit. I will never book a room at that hotel again! The bathtub faucet constantly trickled the entire time we were there. The breakfast was okay, nothing to brag about though.

Checked in. Front desk guy monotone, few words, no smile. OAN network was on big TV in lobby. For those who don't know, hat's the far-right Trump propaganda network that's like Fox on steroids. Very off-putting. Got the key. Room had previous guest's wet towel in the bathroom. There were two towels and washcloths for the two of us. Nothing extra. One sliver of soap that didn't lather to share between the sink and shower. One styrofoam coffee cup. The AC seemed turned down to only make the room decent, never cold despite the heat wave. It just seemed corners were being cut and misered in order to save a few pennies despite the price being one of the highest on our trip. Beds weren't that comfy. Had a bagel for breakfast. No regular cream cheese, just strawberry available. Bagel was so dry I had to toss it after a few bites. This was our second time here. Much different than our three day stay two years ago. Won't be back.

Microtel was new for me. For the money, it was very good. Only negative for me was the lack of a closet when I had 75% of hung clothes. The pegs were quaint, but not the best for business travelers. Didn't discover the two small drawers hidden behind the second bed, halfway into my stay. There will be a next time, overall, I am impressed.

Maryjanes favorite hotel
