This 4-acre private mountain retreat, overlooking spectacular forests & distant mountains, offers an escape from the daily grind, complete with a private outdoor fire pit. A mountain craftsman styled home with modern updates & amenities; you will be awed by the beautiful decor and mountain craftsman inspired accents inside & out. This home was meticulously built, with attention to every detail and strength. Featuring an open living space surrounding you with walls of windows showcasing 360-degree views of sweeping mountain views, the Villa at Stony Woods Estate offers a calming atmosphere with natural elements all around.

This home features a King bedroom on the main floor, a Queen bedroom on the main floor & two bedrooms on the second floor, each containing two Twin beds. The attached guest house touts a King bedroom with full mini-kitchen, living room and private bathroom. Gather with some friends, family, or both, and celebrate, relax, and unwind together at the Villa at Stony Woods Estate.

Enjoy a plethora of amenities, including a relaxing hot tub, high speed wireless internet access, smart televisions throughout, a large hand-crafted fireplace for those chilly nights, central air conditioning for those warm days, wildlife sightings, and more!

There is also additional lodging available at Stony Woods Estate in our Treesort (treehouse cabins). Currently we have two 1BR studio treehouses available for booking and three 2BR treehouses. Stony Woods Estate is a private mountain retreat located in Marshall, surrounded by scenic mountains. You are approx. 15 minutes to downtown Marshall and 25-30 minutes to Weaverville, Hot Springs, or Mars Hill. You are also approx. 40 minutes from downtown Asheville, 45 minutes to the Biltmore Estate, & less than 1 hour to the Asheville Regional Airport. Home is easily accessed via fully maintained gravel roads, right up to the private parking area. 4-wheel drive is NOT required, and property can be easily accessed by any car or truck.

Extremely convenient to everything in Marshall, Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway; come enjoy the eclectic, artsy town that is the world famous downtown Asheville, venture out into the western North Carolina wilderness, stay in to enjoy this marvelous getaway, hop in the car for a short drive to the Pisgah National Forest, or simply do it all! Whatever you choose, you will relax and unwind in style at this luxurious private retreat! This spectacular vacation rental is located just outside Marshall and is approximately 40+/- minutes driving distance to downtown Asheville.

Wonderful experience

We rented Stoney Woods Estate during Christmas week 2023, and had a wonderful experience there. Having recently downsized, we wanted a large home to spend the holiday with our two children and families—9 total. This was our first experience renting a home through VRBO, and we were totally impressed with this house and the hosts. Here are some random thoughts/reflections: breath-taking location and surreally quiet; lovely house in excellent repair and very clean; extensive and beautiful Christmas decorations, including a tree; well-equipped and outfitted kitchen; lots of space; very helpful and responsive hosts, who arrived 15 minutes after we reported a minor plumbing concern on Christmas Eve; while the house is not accessible, we had no trouble entering over a shallow threshold or navigating the first floor; enjoyed our visit to Biltmore Christmas at Night, and to the town of Marshall; grandchildren enjoyed “escaping’ to the second floor bedrooms; we really appreciated the hosts providing the welcome breakfast package. Bottom line: highly recommended!!

Wedding Weekend

We had an intimate wedding on the property. The villa had so much to offer! The background for photos was incredible. The property manager communicated throughly. The new tree houses had the best mix of outdoors and indoors comforts. We could not have had a better weekend and I couldnt imagine a more perfect location for our wedding!

Wonderful stay

The privacy, Mountain View’s and sun filled beauty of the home are amazing. The only downside is : the two twin bedrooms are upstairs but the bathroom is downstairs and the stairs are steep. Fine for kids of course but not older adults. The attached guest cottage was a greatly appreciated bonus. Welcome gift basket very generous. The nearby ingles was handy. Rafting couldn’t be closer. I plan to return with my same family grouping - this is a special place.

Beautiful land and area!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in NC! We loved having the vast land surrounding the house for hikes and just all around enjoying being outside appreciating the view and fire pit . The hosts were very accommodating as well! Plenty of room for all of us with room to spare

Great post Christmas visit

We had a great time visiting for a few nights. The home was more than accommodating with plenty of space for everyone. The favorites- the fire pit and the hot tub! We also got to hike around the property which is beautiful. Close enough to Biltmore and Grove Park Inn. Overall great stay!!

stunning views with amazing privacy

Property was perfectly nestled on the mountain, no neighbors for miles and total privacy. Property had all the mentioned amenities, games, hot tub, fire pit with wood and much more. I highly suggest this property if you want to be secluded at your home, but 30-45 min from everything Asheville and Weaverville has to offer.

Private & Quiet Home - Great for multi-families looking to enjoy the outdoors

Overall we had a great time staying at this property. It was well taken care of, clean, and a great fit for a multi-family vacation. Check in process was super easy. Property was very secluded, which is great if you plan to do lots of hiking or are okay doing a lot of driving (40 minutes to get to Asheville). Having young kids it was a bit difficult having bedrooms so spread out. But they loved getting to explore the property, the fire pit, and the beautiful scenery and wildlife. It was very quiet and peaceful.

A beautiful escape

What a lovely respite from the city! We had dinners every night on the patio overlooking butterflies and hummingbirds. The layout enabled lots of privacy for a blended family and then, a beautiful gathering spot in the main house. It was perfect. The garage fitting two cars with access from the house was a huge convenience for managing two little dogs.

Mountain tranquility

We enjoyed our stay and felt sad to pack and leave. The property is well equipped with just about everything you might need and the whole process was easy from beginning to end. There are a few things that need attention that would improve the overall experience. The exterior doors are all in need of adjustment. The shower in the large bathroom needs remodeled. Pest control is not working as there were centipede looking bugs prevalent on the floors after a couple of days. Despite minor issues we had a wonderful time and felt grateful for the overall experience.

Overall our stay was great. The property is beautiful and the amenities are well thought out. We were a little startled with a maintenance person that arrive unannounced on our last day - we would have appreciated someone letting us know and when we reached out to the rental company to verify they said they would look into it but never got back to us.

Quiet and secluded

Great property, very well kept, loved how quiet it is and private. Everything needed was in the unit and loved that there was a welcome gift basket and coffee available in the cabinet with cream and sugar. These little personal touches made it even nicer. Thank you my stay was great.

Beautiful home just like in the photos!

This is a beautiful property that is well-maintained albeit a little dated decor-wise. Note that the directions for getting onto the property--which we arrived at after dark-were confusing. It said there was a lockbox for the gate which was not the case. We spent a long time trying to find this box. Luckily the after-hours person answered quickly and explained there was actually no lockbox. Would be good to clarify instructions.

Paradise in the mountains

Our family couldn't have been more pleased with this beautiful estate house. Spacious and very clean, has all the household needs to make your stay enjoyable. The property was magnificent...we enjoyed the fire pit everynight with S'mores and hot chocolate. We saw deer every morning. We went to see the fall colors and we weren't disappointed in any way. We will definitely be going back.

Perfect venue for our daughter’s wedding

Steve and Kim, host/owners were absolutely incredible. They did everything possible to make the week leading up to and including the day of the wedding perfect. We absolutely give them and the venue the highest possible rating. We had a glorious event in a beautiful location that also offered us privacy on the lush 95 acre site. The house was well laid out and completely stocked with all the necessities. A perfect spot for a family reunion as well.
