Amazing Trullo with heated pool, nestled in nature, just steps from Alberobello

Nestled in the heart of Puglia, Trullo Olivia offers a unique blend of traditional charm and modern comfort. This stunning trullo features beautiful stone architecture, lush gardens, and a heated private pool, making it an ideal retreat for relaxation.
Experience the enchanting landscapes, explore nearby charming towns, and indulge in local cuisine. Whether you’re looking for a romantic escape or a family vacation, Trullo Olivia provides the perfect backdrop for unforgettable memories.

Trullo Olivia is set in the heart of a one-hectare private estate, surrounded by olive trees, almond trees, and cherry trees. Located on a hill just a few kilometers from Alberobello, this beautifully restored trullo enjoys a peaceful location with stunning panoramic views.

The three spacious bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning for maximum comfort.

Outside, the private heated pool (50 sqm, shaped like a "figure eight") is exclusively for guests' use, with a depth ranging from 1.2 m to 1.5 m. The pool features a remote-controlled cover to maintain its temperature overnight and to keep it clean when not in use.

The stone-paved solarium area is furnished with high-quality sun loungers and side tables, perfect for relaxing under the Italian sun. Beneath the shaded gazebo, you’ll find a wood-fired oven for authentic Italian pizzas and a built-in barbecue for delicious outdoor meals.

Free WiFi is available, as well as a dedicated smart-working area.

Inside, the main trullo cone houses the living room with comfortable leather sofas, streaming TV, and a cozy dining nook. The kitchen is fully equipped with an induction hob, fridge, oven, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, dishwasher, and washing machine.

Two of the three bedrooms have French doors opening directly onto the terrace. The master suite features an en-suite bathroom with a shower, while the other two bedrooms share a unique yet fully functional bathroom, integrated into the trullo’s original oven space.
All doors and windows are doubled glazed with internal paneled shutters and they are fitted with mosquito nets. Furthermore, there are traditional iron grills.

Bed linens, bath towels, pool towels, and kitchen linens are provided.

To ensure a comfortable environment for all guests, smoking and pets are not allowed.

Trullo Olivia is located in a rural setting within the enchanting Itria Valley, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes that become even more magical at sunset. The large courtyard, shaded by a hazelnut tree, can accommodate up to three cars. The quiet country road alongside the property sees virtually no traffic, making it especially safe for families with young children.

Nearby, you’ll find cycling routes and trails perfect for long walks, jogging, or exploring. The Bosco Selva Natural Reserve is also just a short distance away.

A local manager takes care of Olivia's daily upkeep. Upon arrival, a member of our team greets each guest and remains available throughout the stay for any needs that may arise. We offer a wide range of services, including bike rentals, food and wine tours, cooking classes, and the opportunity to book one of the most renowned private chefs, who will prepare a gourmet meal paired with selected wines. For a more relaxed experience, a chef will teach guests how to prepare and cook their own pizza in our oven – a fun and engaging activity.

Lovely property being a refurbished Trullo which has been sympathetically extended. Very comfortable with a number of additional facilities which made our stay more enjoyable - coffee machine, table tennis table, beech towels, BBQ & pizza oven. Lovely pool and outdoor space. Close to the main key attractions of the region - Alberobello, Polignano and Locorotondo. Wouldn't hessitate to recommend.

Highly recommend

I can not say enough great things about this property and location. The home has everything that you need during your stay and amazing AC. The location is 10 minutes from the grocery store , Alberobello, Locorotondo and Martina Franca. The host was very communicative and the check process was easy. Two things to note: if your a tall person or big the shower maybe a little tight and you have to dispose of you garbage about 7 minutes down the road.

Comfortable trullo, beautiful location.

Trullo Olivia is the best of both worlds, cool and traditional in the original trullo and comfortable and modern in the kitchen and bedrooms. It has everything needed to entertain inside and a good bbq outside. Unforunately the pool was not functioning properly from the start of our stay and although useable initially we became wary of using it with no filtration. The problem was temporarily resolved on our last day with the kind intervention of the owners of the property. As mentioned in a previous review the bin situation is unusual, involving having to take black bags and recycling 4 kms to the rubbish collection point. Having to plan in your rubbish disposal while on holiday is something we have never encountered before, even when staying in remote properties. Overall we had a wonderful holiday, the surrounding towns are beautiful, the local restaurants excellent and the area of Puglia is beautiful, a good base to visit the amazing Alberobello but also close enough to the coast for a wonderful day by the sea.

Trulli Fantastic

Fantastic Villa, great Pool. We had an amazing week, very private and great facilities, we got slightly obsessed with the Pizza Oven. Welcome from host rep was lovely, explained everything thoroughly and was bang on time when we were set to check out. I would thoroughly recommend a visit, just be careful following satnav , as we entered the lane from the wrong end and was very bumpy and narrow , much better to come from the main road side.

Perfect stay for some October sunshine

This is a beautiful property giving you the best of both worlds, the authentic trullo experience with the added comfort of generous sized bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen. The heated pool was fantastic and our 9yo spent far more time in it than out. Alberobello is a lovely town nearby and well worth a trip. All the restaurants we tried were great but the 2 stand outs for us were Gli Olivi and L'Arcata. Jan and Bob answered all questions promptly and honestly so all expectations were met. The property management company were also excellent. Would happily go back to this peaceful villa/trullo in a heartbeat. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful trullo, perfect for a family holiday

We stayed for 4 nights in September as a family of five - children aged 4 and 7, my husband and I and my Mum. Trullo Olivia was perfect for all of us with nice, spacious bedrooms, comfortable mattresses and plenty of extra pillows and duvets which came in handy as there was a cold snap while we were there! As it was the turn of the season, there was initially a problem with the central heating not working (probably the first time it had been turned on since winter), but Puglia Pools who manages the property got onto it straight away and someone fixed it the next day so we were nice and cosy. Unfortunately the pool heater was not able to counter the cold nights so the pool was very cold, invigorating for a quick dip but not much longer! We enjoyed a day just lounging by the pool and reading nonetheless. We really appreciated some of the extras at the trullo such as board games and puzzles that were great to play with the kids, as well as a great selection of DVDs and the ability to login to Netflix, Apple TV etc. Lovely when you've had a busy day and just want to chill! Trullo Olivia is in a gorgeous peaceful spot but only a short drive from Alberobello with lots to see and restaurants. We enjoyed exploring the area by day and ate in for a few nights - the pizza oven was a hit! One word of caution not to approach Trullo Olivia the 'backway' that Google Maps took us when we first arrived - continue on via Alberobello! We just scraped through and had to source some car polish in Locorotondo (certainly tested my Italian to find that!) to buff out scratches in the hire car!! I'd highly recommend this property.

Rather disappointed!

We were looking forward to staying in a trullo on our first visit to Puglia. We were initially shocked to hear that we had to dispose of our own waste and were given details on how to do this. This was not mentioned in the details whatsoever. Having stayed at villas in other places, this of course was always done for us, as it should be with the maid service. We were informed we’d be charged €30 if we needed this service!! So that certainly didn’t start off our holiday in good spirit. The trullo was spacious enough and was very charming in its own way but we found that we needed to air the rooms that were in the old part regularly as there was a damp smell present. The duvet on the king bed was actually only a double and we decided to swap it with the one on the other king bed.. There were also dead scorpions on the glass ceiling of the small bathroom which still weren’t removed after the maids came to clean. There were cobwebs about on the ceilings that were there when we arrived also. I do not think the cleaning agency used did a good job at all. The outside area was nice but sunbeds unusable for me. No cushioning on them so very hard and uncomfortable. However, to be fair, I did ask the owners about this prior to travel but it was too late for them to get any cushioning ordered in time. The WiFi didnt extend to the outside which at times was frustrating but luckily we took a Bluetooth speaker so we could use that with the device inside picking up the WiFi. It was extremely remote and peaceful, however, and the kitchen was well stocked from every point of view. The bed was very comfortable once we’d changed the duvet? The agency was very disappointing in the fact I had to chase them up to ask what time they would be coming to clean after the first week and then they turned up earlier than they said in the end. They didn’t bother to come to collect the keys on the day of departure not did they contact us whatsoever prior to this. We had to leave the keys in the garden and had to contact them to tell them where we’d put them! All in all a very frustrating stay which we had to make the most of.

Happy Puglian Memories

We loved our stay at Trullo Olivia. We were a party of 4 adults and two children and it was the perfect size - not too big, not too small and very comfortable. The bedrooms, with their air-conditioning, were very comfortable. The kitchen was very well-equipped and we'd like to thank the hosts for their very welcome gift of wine plus other essentials such as water. We loved the rural setting and the surrounding flora. Be careful if you hire a car; the road to the trullo is just a track and the road-side brambles could scratch your paintwork! The Conad supermarket in Alberobello is just a short drive and we bought wonderful prawns to bbq at the fish market next door. Locorotondo and Martina Franca are beautiful towns to visit but we found Alberobello very crowded. All-in-all, a wonderful happy stay. Would we recommend - YES!

Beautiful, well maintained, clean, spacious, well equipped villa.

This was a perfect trullo for our family group to explore this area of Italy. Our party comprised of 3 adults and 2 children aged 3 and 6. The trullo was comfortable, well equipped and plenty of outside space for eating alfresco. The Zoosafari 30 mins away was the best zoo we have ever visited, with so many animals in great volume to see. The caves were worth a visit and we particularly liked Monopoli as a place to explore. The trullo was a welcome sight after a morning of exploring, the pool entertained the kids and the secluded spot was very relaxing and peaceful. The bbq facilities for outdoor cooking, and the well equipped kitchen made alfresco dining easy and enjoyable. Overall a lovely holiday and would recommend this part of Italy and in particular this lovely trullo.

Lovely outdoor area, close to town

We enjoyed our stay in this home very much. It was fun to experience living in a trullo while still having a well equipped kitchen! However, the gem of this house is the outdoor space. We spent several evenings under the covered patio enjoying the serenity of the area. Although we enjoyed the quiet, it was nice that there are towns only a 10-15 minute drive away for those evenings when we wanted to go to a restaurant. I would highly recommend this home

Lovely location, relaxing, fantastic pool.

Having booked only a couple of weeks before travel, the communication prior to departure and directions to the trullo were excellent. Easiest transfer we have had to this part of Italy. The villa location could not have been more idyllic and peaceful, but still close enough to surrounding towns and villages. Welcome pack was much appreciated. Trullo was well equipped, clean and suited our requirements perfectly. The local team were very helpful, particularly when there was an issue with the pool (resolved in a couple of hours). With the temperatures in the 40's, the large fridge, and fantastic pool were much appreciated. The only fault we could level, is that the Trullo lacking air conditioning in the bedrooms meant sleeping was difficult during our stay, but appreciate temperatures were considerably above the seasonal norm. The guest handbook recommended local restaurants and shops, and all those visited proved to be excellent. To summarise, the whole family thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would recommend it to anyone who wanted a relaxing time in the Italian countryside.

Heavenly

We had a fantastic stay here at Trullo Olivia. Everything was fantastic. From the booking until we arrived we were updated with relevant information in a friendly personal manner. On arrival we were met promptly and escorted to the Trullo which was useful as it was out in the countryside in a gorgeous spot. Our two 8 year olds loved the pool and especially the diving board. It was always lovely and clean and "refreshing" in the Puglia heat. It was great to be able to sit around the pool area under shade to supervise them and have kitchen facilities so close too. Unlike some other villas we've tried Trullo Olivia had a good basic selection of kitchen stuff like olive oil, pepper, salt etc. There were plenty of plates, glasses and cutlery. There were also games and DVD's age appropriate for them, and for us also which we enjoyed. We managed to BBQ a couple of times and ate outdoors most of the evenings (had a couple of windy nights at the beginning of the week that forced us indoors). All the rooms were comfortable with a fan which we didn't always need due to how the Trullo seems to manage to stay cool all by itself. The area is absolutely stunning and highly recommend that you visit as widely as you can. A car is a must for this property. We hope to be back.

Lovely Trullo in a beauitful part of the world

The Trullo has been lovingly restored to a high standard. All the creature comforts of home are available and then some... including fly screens on the windows and doors to keep the mozzies away!! The Trullo was cool even without air conditioning, keeping it locked up in the heat of the day and opening up in the evening when the breeze came through worked a treat. Also, the ceiling fans did a wonderful job keeping you cool when sleeping. The hot water was hot and bedding clean and comfortable. The pool and outdoor space is perfect for lazy days and lovely evenings spent watching the sky change colour or enjoying a bbq. We loved the pool being heated, making it very inviting to swim. Also the pool has a very deep end and we loved diving competitions. The surrounding fields and country side are wonderful to explore and provided a lovely backdrop for many family photos. Trullo Olivia is private, with only one neighbour nearby and is a short drive into Alberobello - a must see. A car is a must and make it a little one because the roads are not generous in size. Jan and Bob were very helpful when booking, providing clear directions from the airport to the meeting point. They also provided a folder FULL of information on the area and recommendations for places to eat and visit. There is also a guest book with hints and tips from previous holiday makers. All very helpful and much appreciated. Overall, we very much enjoyed Pulgia, mostly staying in the Trullo region but found the Sassi of Matera the highlight of our visit. It is a remarkable part of the world and well worth a visit if you have the time. Matera is an easy drive only one hour away from Trullo Olivia. To ensure we got the most out of our visit we did a wonderful tour with Antonio Manicone from Matera Tour Guide. He and his wife offer tours in English or Italian for a very reasonable price. Worth every Euro!!! Look him up if you want to appreciate and understand the history of the Sassi of Matera, you won't regret it. Ostuni and Monopoli were also favourites of ours as were the mussels in The Anchor (La Anc??? in Italian) restaurant in Capitolo just south of Monopoli on the coast road. We recommend Trullo Olivia for it's beauty and for the wonderful job the hosts do in making your stay enjoyable. Thank you Jan and Bob.
