Humid room

Initially, upon arrival, our room felt like it had just been rained on. I have COPD and I could barely breathe. Just that was the reason for the low ratings. But we called the front desk and things changed. Initially they offered us a different room. But we were tired and had just unpacked, so we went with their plan B. They put in a small dehumidifier and hoped that would fix the problem. It was still very humid in the morning. We stopped at the front desk. The handyman took action. He got a heavy duty larger dehumidifier and a ionizer, for when we left. Amazingly, we came back to a what seemed to be a new room! We had to spill out the water several times a day but the room was just fine. This is the third year we’ve there and I think we’ll come back again.

The hotel stay was great there were a few spiders and spider webs in one room and then in another the appliances were not connected and we didn’t realize so our food went bad. Staff was great though.

The room our first two nights was extremely damp and mildew-y. We changed rooms for the last two nights and the next room was a little less damp, but we felt pretty crappy the first two days after sleeping in there..

Room was very high humidity - carpet & sheets damp. Light flickering in bathroom so just removed it & replaced it upon leaving. It was first time a Motel has asked for additional $50 upon check in - I had preregistered month ago. Would like it to be returned next morning not three days later to bank account. Should be told about that when making a reservation. Good Continnetial breakfast and quiet night

Staff was VERY helpful

I checked in late, as I usually do. And the hostess was very accomadating! Understanding my forgetfulness and working with me. In the morning another hostess and I had a nice chat about my stay and in the afternoon after I had checkedout, I called to see if I could use their hotel restroom to clean up before flying home. She offered me the pool shower room (more privacy than a guest bathroom). Restaurant adjacent to the hotel had very good food and I will stay here in the future and recommend that everyone else do the same if they need a hotel in the Arden Hills area.

For our purposes it was a good location. It was also nice to have a Green Mill restaurant attached to the property. The staff was pleasant to work with and overall it is a nice property. However, it was too expensive for the amenities that were offered.

Weekend trip

The from desk greater was very sweet and check in went smoothly. The room was clean the only complaint I had was the pillows were small and uncomfortable. The breakfast was ok just would have liked waffles and bacon because the pancakes were very thin and sticky. Overall I would give our stay a 9 out of 10.

The staff was excellent and helpful. Older hotel but in reasonable shape. My lady was stuck between the two entry doors as one was stuck. Easy fix. The restaurant was turned over to a franchise. They were unprepared for the level of business the Back to the 50's Car Show. would produce. Ran out of food items and some normal alcohol requests.. Imagine they will not make the mistake again.
