Casa Holmston Anfi Tauro. Great design, views, private hot tub & communal pool.

Perfect place to get away, relax and unwind with friends or family.
The property is large and spacious with a lovely open plan design. Fully renovated to a high spec. There are great views from the balcony terrace where you can cook a treat on the BBQ. We have recently added a new hot tub so you can relax and enjoy.

Just 2 minutes walk to the local Tauro Grill restaurant and Spar supermarket. There is also a large communal heated swimming pool and a kids playing area. We can provide a cot, high chair and a kid's playbox with toys. We also installed a full IPTV system with cartoons, sports, boxsets and all European TV including UK and Scandanavian. It's perfect for families.

It can comfortably sleep 6 adults and 1 child but we prefer to keep it to 6 people or less. There are 2 double beds and 2 single beds. We also have a baby cot and high chair if required.

All the bedrooms are located downstairs with the living area, kitchen and balcony terrace upstairs offering great views.

You can access directly to the downstairs patio (sun trap) from the bedrooms. All bathrooms have marble finishing and throughout the house you will notice the attention to detail.

Casa Holmston really is the best Duplex in the complex and the interior design is stunning with great views from the terrace/balcony to the golf course.

In the complex there is an excellent restaurant - “The Tauro Grill” and a large Spar supermarket (both less than 2 minutes’ walk). There is also a larger communal swimming pool solely for the use of owners and renters (we provide a key to access). Within this area there are also exercise equipment. There is a side gate access to the walkway to the local Tauro beach. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the beach.

We highly recommend renting a car for your stay as there is so much to explore on this fantastic island. It is so much more than a beach and sun destination and if you take a trip up the mountains you will have amazing views of the volcanic landscape. You can eat in cave restaurants and enjoy traditional Canarian cuisine away from the tourist traps. There is room for 2 cars to park right outside the front door.

But if you want to explore more then we can recommend Palmitos Park, Aqualand, Angry Birds Park, Sioux City and many other attractions. Afrikat is the best boat trip to go on and is a great day out. We provide loads of information to our guests about activities, restaurants and tours through our detailed information pack that we send to all guests.

As I am based in Gran Canaria I am happy to meet guests and give recommendations based on your preferences.


More information on the area:

· Puerto Mogan, known as Little Venice, has become quite accessible from Tauro since a new dual carriageway has been opened from Tauro in 2013 and is now just about a 5 minute drive away through the new tunnels. The Friday Market is highly recommended.

· Puerto Rico has vehicle access from Tauro through a tunnel and is now just a few minutes from your villa . Night life here is lively but still far enough away not to be noticed unless guests wish to enjoy a special few nights out.

· Las Palmas, the capital city , which is less than one hour's drive from Tauro boasts a modern Opera House, superb beaches and shopping attractions.

· There are 7 championship golf courses on the island, with the most popular , Anfi Tauro, on your doorstep, as the villa overlooks the driving range.

More information on the region:

· Tauro is based in the middle of the municipality of Mogan , which is primarily dedicated to tourism.

· The main six tourist areas are all within a short drive and comprise Arguineguin, Patalavaca, Anfi del Mar, Puerto Rico, Amadores, Tauro, Playa del Curator, Taurito and Puerto de Mogan. They all feature a range of restaurants and bars along the avenues and walkways that lead to the end of the beaches.

· Amadores beach with its 5 star beach club and numerous bars and restaurants is less than 5 minutes from the villa.
Swimming here is very popular as the beach is designed to cut off large waves from the Atlantic Ocean.

There are many attractions to explore in the area including Palmitos Park, Aqualand, Sioux City, Angry Birds Park and many other places.

I also highly recommend a day trip to Las Palmas city - it is an incredible city with great history and architecture and one of the largest city beaches in the world.

In summary, if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing place to enjoy your holiday then our villa is perfect.

Wonderful Holiday

We had the most relaxing 2 weeks at Casa Holmston. The location is great, a short walk to the beach. The pool always had free beds, even in summer hols. The restaurant on site was lovely for a meal and having a SPAR on site was a bonus for shopping top ups. The location is easy to get to and also to visit other places across the island. Gerard was a fantastic host going above and beyond and giving some great recommendations. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

great location

The house is very spacious and especially the upper floor with the living room and kitchen is very bright. From the upper terrace you have a wonderful view directly onto the driving range, on the lower terrace there is a whirlpool that is very well maintained. The bathrooms are a good size and even when all four of us showered there was always enough hot water. The kitchen is also very well equipped. The house was cleaned weekly, the beds were freshly made and we always had enough hand and bath towels. The location right on the beautiful golf course is perfect, there is also a pleasant walk - about 15 minutes - to Playa Tauro. The communal pool is heated and the pool area is very nice. Our host Gerard looked after us very well, asked several times whether everything was OK (everything was always fine) and really looked after us.

Everything was as discribed, the wirlpool and the community Pool where often used after a Day at the beach. The host was very nice and you could always contact him in case of questions. I midterm cleaning is included. We realy enjoyed uur stay.

Revived and relaxed - all we were hoping for

We had a great holiday in this very comfortable, very spacious duplex apartment. It had everything we could possible need and more. We loved the large balcony when we wanted to be together, and appreciated that there were two other outdoor spaces when we didn't.- we were a group of 5.. Ger (owner) is very friendly and was there to welcome us. He also sent lots of information before our holiday.

Alles war perfekt und noch besser als erhofft!!!!!! Sehr sauber, geschmackvoll eingerichtet, alles vorhanden was einen Urlaub unvergesslich macht, perfekte Lage, toller Pool in der Anlage, grandioser privater Whirlpool, Parkplatz vor der TĂŒr, super Ausblick auf den grĂŒnen Golfplatz und die Berge , gĂŒnstiger Supermarkt und gutes Restaurant in der Anlage , kurzer Weg zum Strand und ein wunderbarer Vermieter :):):) Hilfsbereit, freundlich und immer erreichbar. Had a great time despite the coronavirus. Good location and handy Spar shop 2 minutes away. Everything we needed to cook in the duplex and the hot tub was a life saver seeing the pool was closed. Will come back when the coronavirus has lifted.

Exceptional property and host

Casa Holmston was as advertised. The main floor plan is open with high ceilings and large sliding doors to a great terrace with a view over the driving range for the Anfi Tauro golf course. The distance from the range is far enough that there are no worries about stray balls. The view of the surrounding mountains and valley is wonderful. The east facing terrace is nice and cool in the afternoon. There is an awning for earlier in the day if the sun is too strong. Nice bright fully equipped kitchen. The hot tub was clean and well maintained. The two main bedrooms are on the lower level, each with a direct walkout to the back sun trap patio. The complex has a well maintained heated community pool that never was crowded during our stay. There is a well stocked small Spar grocery store on site as well as a good casual restaurant that features BBQ. Both are reasonably priced. The quiet complex is nicely designed with single and double story villas. The beach is a bit of a walk over a good but rough path by the golf course. The beach is in a nice cove with a couple of bars/eateries on site. The valley is not overly developed compared to some of its neighbours. Varied shopping options are a short 5 minute drive to the higher density Puerto Rico. Ger was a great host. He was very communicative and helpful. We definitely would return to this property.

Fabulous holiday, amazing Duplex & host!

All of the previous reviews exceeded our expectations and made our first Christmas abroad (a family of 5, 2 adults & 3 teenagers) one to remember! The communication with Ger has been superb and the addition of the new hot tub was an added bonus! The Duplex is in a great location, furnished with all that you need and to a very high standard. Taxis were easy and cheap to use costing less than 5 euros each time to Puerto Rico. I would however recommend hiring a car to explore the island as there is so much to see and driving was very easy. I would highly recommend booking this Duplex and keep reading more reviews to pick up some useful tips/info. Thank you Ger for being a great host and making this a very memorable stay for our family. Great apartment with everything you'll need close to hand

Difficult to add to the previous recent reviews (summer 2019). Apartment is spacious and very well appointed. The listed description is accurate. Its 2 mins to the pool, which was never busy when when we visited. The beach is a 15 mins walk away around the golf course. We found a car to be very useful as there is a great deal to see and do in the local area. We used the owners recommendation and this local car hire firm were very easy to deal with, offered a good price and the pick up and drop off was simple. We ate at the restaurant by the pool area a couple of times and the food was excellent and well priced. Overall, a great apartment in a tranquil and beautiful setting. If you want somewhere to escape to this is a great starting point. I have no doubt we'll be back, we might even play a little golf next time.

Superb villa in a brilliant location

Just stayed for 2 weeks in this lovely apartment every thing from booking to the transfers was A+ the apartment is located 2 mi s walk from the pool which was always very quite and always had sun beds and umbrellas available there is lovely restaurant next to the pool which serves lovely and very reasonable food and drink and and a Spar shop that sells everything very cheap, the apartment is luxurious with a lovely balcony overlooking the driving range and mountains. Thanks Ger for a wonderful holiday we will certainly be coming back.

Everything about this property is top notch. Beutiful duplex, fantastic views, great decor, everything contained within very tasteful and the owner is friendly and wonderfully accommodating. Anything you need or need to know Ger will get back to you in very short time. Information folder very helpful and confirmation email with all the property details and access security easy to understand. Nice restaurant on site and good pool with top spec sun loungers. Those who prefer a wider selection of bars and restaurateurs can get a taxi into nearby Puerto Rico for €5 which the on site restaurant/bar Tauro Grill will be happy to order for you and the taxis arrive within minutes. Thouroghly recommend and will definately rebook to come again. Hope this helps. John W

Wir haben im Mai/Juni 2019 unseren Urlaub in dieser Villa verbracht. Die Kommunikation mit Gerard lief völlig reibungslos und unkompliziert. Lived up to all our expectations and more

We just returned from two weeks in Casa Holmston and would unhesitatingly recommend it. The duplex apartment is in a residential complex attached to the Anfi Tauro golf course. The development is an architecturally pleasing one and is immaculately maintained. The duplex is very high quality and occupies one of the best positions on the estate. The main terrace faces due east and looks straight down the driving range, behind which there is a crescent of quite dramatic looking hills. The views are terrific and the sunrises are impressive. We were lucky to be there when there was a full moon also rising in the east which was even more dramatic than the sunrises. The apartment is extremely well equipped with everything you need, including if you want to eat in. WiFi works fine and there is a wide range of TV programmes on offer. There is a restaurant – the Tauro Grill – just a couple of minutes walk from the apartment where both food and service are excellent. There is a small Spar supermarket next door to the Grill which has all the basics you need to kick off your stay. Within about four minutes driving time there are two large supermarkets – another Spar and a Mercadona – in nearby Puerto Rico. While the nearest town is Puerto Rico this is a bit touristy and it is not too easy to park. However Puerto de Mogan is only a ten minute drive away and this is a far prettier place with a pleasant marina, nice architecture and loads of really quite good restaurants. We never had a problem parking within a couple of minutes walk of the marina. Gerard O'Reilly, the owner of the apartment, could not have been more helpful. Every communication with him was responded to virtually by return. Well before we arrived he emailed us a comprehensive information pack about the apartment, the complex and the surrounding area. He put us in touch with an excellent local car hire company who will deliver a car to and collect it from the apartment, charge a flat rate per day or week with absolutely no extras, and deliver the car to you with a full tank and will let you return it more or less empty. He also organised transport for us from and back to the airport at about half the cost of a taxi. We would highly recommend Casa Holmston and we will almost certainly re-book for next year.

Relaxing holiday!

The total impression from our stay at Casa Holmston was very good! it was modern and well equipped !The brewer was slow, and the coffee was not very hot.... The beds were comfortable, but please, change the bed pillows!! But we will highly recommend this Casa for a relaxing stay !! Jan. 2019 Norway

Wonderful holiday home December 2018 / January 2019

Our stay in the house was amazing and really lived up to the description and pictures we received in connection with booking. Gerard (the homeowner) always responded very promptly and provided very extensive information about the accommodation and activities nearby. In summary, we are very satisfied and highly recommend the accommodation. We traveled 6 adults + a 5 year old and there was plenty of room in the house. Kind regards from the happy family in Sweden

Wonderful

The duplex was in a perfect loacation. The on-site pool and restaurant were superb, and the spa shop was surprisingly very cheap! All of these amenities were only a 3 minute walk from the accommodation. The accommodation itself was immaculate and the beds were so comfortable. Security is always a concern of mine when going abroad, especially having 3 children, the youngest being 6. All 3 bedrooms are on the same floor which I loved, and the property was very secure. All in all a great villa at a great price in a great location.

Tolles, modernes und sehr sauberes Haus, das fĂŒr eine Familie mit drei Kindern (16/12/7) keine WĂŒnsche offen ließ! GroßzĂŒgig angelegt, super ausgestattet und gut gelegen. Sehr schöner, beheizter Gemeinschaftspool in der Anlage, Gut sortierter Supermarkt und nettes Restaurant 3 Minuten entfernt. Zugang zum letzten unverbauten, schönen Strand ĂŒber den nahen Golfplatz. Hervorragender Ausgangspunkt fĂŒr Touren in die fantastische Umgebung. Die Betreuung durch den Vermieter hĂ€tte nicht besser und aufmerksamer sein können!! Vielen Dank, Ger - wir kommen bestimmt wieder!

First class duplex!

Would highly recommend the duplex, very clean, tidy and modern, a real home from home. Gerard couldn't do enough to help which made for a really enjoyable holiday. Excellent accomodation in superb surroundings

Family of 4 from the UK, August 2017, including two teenage boys, the accommodation was 5 star quality, a real home from home with all mod cons & great outside space with top quality furniture, the complex itself was spotlessly clean with a great pool area, well stocked local Spar & good restaurant. Locality was a 20/25 minute walk through the golf course and along the beach/coastal path to Amordores Beach with a 5 euro cab journey home. I could not speak more highly of the accommodation, complex, location or Gerard as the owner, he was only a phone call / email away and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be booking again.
