Surrounded by vibrant foliage, the entire estate of Villa Fontanili is filled with life and colour. One of 4 apartments on the estate, Fontanili Mirto is located on the ground level and features 3 bedrooms to suitably accommodate 5 guests. Its interior is freshly renovated and features a modern style kitchen and bathrooms. The living area is equipped with comfortable seating around the fireplace with windows and doors to let the light in.

With 3 separate entrances and plenty of windows, this airy apartment will have you enjoying the Tuscan breeze at all times.

OUTDOOR LOUNGE AREA & POOL

The magic of Villa Fontanili lies in its beautifully landscaped grounds where olive groves and fields complement the colorful flora around the estate. A private garden with bistro tables for al-fresco dining can be found directly outside the apartments.

On the estate you’ll find a very large inground pool complete with over a dozen lounge chairs, bamboo pergolas, children’s pool and a ping pong table!

Sheltered by rose and lavender bushes, this area feels like an Italian paradise. Near the pool, shared outdoor living areas provide opportunities to barbecue, socialize and relax in the shade.

Walking into villa Fontanili Mirto, you’ll find yourself in the spacious living area. Featuring high ceilings and windows complete with decorative curtains to match the contemporary fusion style of the space, this place is the perfect spot to kick back after a nice hike around the beautiful Italian countryside. Get nice and cozy by the fireplace or enjoy premium satellite TV after a long day in the sun. If you’re looking to dine indoors, a glass dining table is situated next to the couches.

In the adjoining room is the kitchen. With rustic tile flooring and classical decor, the kitchen features a modern oven and stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, coffee maker and toaster, you’ll have every comfort you would have at your own home.

MUST DO ACTIVITIES:

- From a vacationer‘s point of view the private beach of Fontanili is a real asset, only four kilometers from the house. A back road leads to a private gate to which the guests are given a key. The beach is of fine sand with a multitude of coloured shells. Behind the beach, the dunes are covered with a labyrinth of wild aromatic bushes such as myrtle and cistus-roses which blossom at different times of the year. Two cafés down the beach have coffee, ice-cream and also serves light meals.
- Lake Burano: the estate of Fontanili borders on the Lake Burano, a lagoon run by the WWF. The bird-watching here is excellent, above all in spring and autumn.
- The Parco dell’Uccellina, officially the Parco Nazionale Maremmano, is a rewarding place for nature lovers. Marked footpaths will lead you through incredibly beautiful pine woods to hidden creeks, past romantic ruins of fortified watch towers to the abbey of San Rabano, built by monks who arrived from Rhodes in the X century.
- Visit the beautiful Vulci park, certified by the WWF
- Tarquinia is world famous for its Etruscan tombs and frescoes. The necropolis of Tarquinia is on the outskirts of town and easy to find. In town the beautiful 15th century Palazzo Vitelleschi is now the Archeological Museum.
- Tuscania: dating back to the Etruscan period, it became an important fortification in the middle-ages. The two romanic churches of Santa Maria Maggiore are remarkable. A walk through the center of the town is rewarding.
- The Tarot-Garden of Niki de Saint-Phalle: on one of the hills not far from Fontanili the famous french artist built her „Jardin des Tarots“, twenty two giant sculptures inspired by the figures of the magic tarot cards. Children love it!
- Villa Lante, Bagnaia- Viterbo: one of Italy’s most stunning Renaissance gardens.
- Sovana, Sorano and Pitigliano are three towns at 1 h drive. Sovana boasts a magnificent Etruscan necropolis and 2 remarkable Romanic churches. Pitigliano is a medieval town high up on a crest, with a Jewish community dating back to the 16thc. It is also known for the white wine Bianco di Pitigliano. The Medieval town of Sorano spreads at the foot of the 14th century Orsini Castle.
