This place was great! VERY clean and VERY helpful/friendly staff. The beds were super comfortable and the room was restocked/refreshed everyday. I traveled with my husband and son. We enjoyed the breakfast 2xs while there- it was better than other places we ate. The customer service at the restaurant is iffy depending on the person there. Very close to the farmers market and Marianplatz. Room was a touch tiny- for 3ppl- but it was comfortable. Only complaint: The sliding glass bathroom door is a terrible idea-you can hear/see everything. We would definitely come back!!!

It’s a great hotel in a fantastic area. It’s actually home of what turned out to be a famous male gay sauna. As I say a superb hotel, staff and location, but maybe Expedia should mention the vibe of the place in their description…

What a superb hotel! Everything was wonderful from the friendly welcome to the free drinks and minibar (and charcuterie board and breakfast!) and gorgeous room. I booked the junior suite for my aunt and me and I was honestly in interiors heaven. Beautiful polished wood floor, amazingly comfortable bed, fabrics by Morris & Co and utterly divine bathroom. The apartment over the road was perfect for the other two members of our group. We enjoyed learning about the Deutsche Eiche’s fascinating back story and we very much appreciated their ethos of inclusivity for all. LGBT+ friendly is understating the Eiche’s iconic gay history - a favourite of Freddie Mercury’s - and expansive sauna (the only part not accessible to us four straight ladies…!) We loved the open, welcoming vibe and wished we could have stayed longer. I wouldn’t book anywhere else for a return visit. Highly recommended!

What a find! Absolutely loved this hotel. Gorgeous room, fab staff, interesting history, great location and lovely inclusive ethos: LGBT+ friendly - and very welcoming to all including us four straight ladies! Stayed in the junior suite which was beautifully designed with wooden floor, super-comfy bed, antiques and Morris & Co fabric. Loved the freestanding bath and free minibar. The other 2 in our group stayed in the apartment over the road - spacious, comfortable and with a great story! Lovely restaurant and rooftop bar. Highly recommended.

Great stay in Munich

Great location, friendly staff. Gave us a free Bavarian platter, champagne and drink in fridge were actually included. Bathroom was spacious by Europe standards. Didn't go to rooftop restaurant as it was a short stay but wish we did. Parking garage was a bit of a walk to hotel, so not super convenient with luggage but not a huge deal.

Fantastic hotel in the heart of everywhere we wanted to be. The hotel is beautifully renovated. Staff were so kind and welcoming. Our family group of 8 reserved 3 rooms, one teenager in each room. The hotel was staff was very responsive making up the sofa for the teens. The air conditioning was a welcome relief during a stretch of incredibly hot weather. The rooms were exceptionally clean, very nice amenities and the free mini-bar was a nice addition. Would definitely stay here again.

The entire team was extremely friendly - from dropping off my bags, showing me to my room and explaining all the details. Room size and set up was perfect for me being on my own! The added touch of a refilled mini bar each night was very much appreciated. The location is perfect, close to the market and transit yet just far enough away that it isn’t noisy or crowded. A functioning air conditioner was WONDERFUL after three weeks in this heat wave. Thank you Hotel Deutsche Eiche for making this solo traveler feel comfortable and safe!
