Welcome to Pond Path, a cozy community nestled in the heart of New Buffalo yet tucked away on a beautiful pond setting. Warmly appointed and whimsically decorated, the home has all of the creature comforts that make for an ideal get away and proximal to all of the attractions Harbor Country has to offer. There is a walking path, community heated pool and the cottage has a brand new private hot tub. All of this, is just a short walk to downtown and the beach. Our Happy Place is the perfect getaway whether you are traveling alone or with kids. Fully stocked with books, games, puzzles and all of the comforts of home. Stay and relax your mind, body and soul. You will be sure to enjoy your stay in beautiful New Buffalo, MI.

Happy Place Cottage

This wonderful “cottage” was very well-stocked and the perfect layout for our family. Quiet neighborhood with great front porch and back deck, hot tub and steps away from the on site swimming pool. The owners were easy to contact and wonderful to work with. Short walk to the downtown shops and restaurants and short drive to the beach.

Exceeded All Expectations

This VRBO listing had the features we were looking for, so we booked it. When we arrived, all of our expectations were exceeded by this property. It is roomy, bright, up to date and perfect for a family vacation. The amenities were great, the location is ideal, the neighbors friendly and the community pool and playground facilities were at hit for both the adults and kids in our family. More importantly was the support we received from the owners during a 20-hour regional power black-out. Their text and phone call communications helped us get through this challenge and the result was turning what could have been a significant problem into a minor and memorable speedbump in our vacation. Our entire family would recommend this property without qualification for anyone who wants a quality, comfortable home away from home. We would go back without hesitation. And, our thanks to the owners for a great vacation!

Peaceful Paradise

We had such a great time for the week with my wife, kids and parents. The house was beautiful, well stocked with games and even extra some amenities that we forgot, and spotless when we arrived. Hector and Tene were always quick and eager to respond when we had questions or needed to advice on what to do. The pond community was hard to leave during our stay. We all enjoyed the hot tub and pool, and the pickle ball and too. I would play with my Dad and boys, as my youngest ran around on the playground. Much of our time was spent relaxing on the front and back porches. It was also great to have the big back yard for the kids to play in, and the pond where we would go find frogs at night! Such a calm, secluded community, yet close to town and the beach. We had no idea how nice the beaches and the lake was. We checked out a few different beaches that were amazing, hiked the dunes, enjoyed the local restaurants and caught salmon and trout on a fishing charter. Our kids had a blast at Captain Mike’s fun park on our day off from the water. Still so much more to see and do after a week- we will be back for sure. Thank you Tene and Hector!

Lovely Vacation Home

This home was a wonderful vacation spot in New Buffalo! Not only was it clean and cozy, but it was also walking distance to downtown and the beach. My husband and I traveled with our four children ranging ages 2-13 and it was the perfect fit for our family. We would definitely book it again!

“Our Happy Place” is a wonderful rental!

All six of us enjoyed our stay. The home is cheerfully decorated and very comfortable. It has everything you need during your stay. Kitchen is very well stocked, plenty of towels, beach towels , games, huge grill, relaxing hot tub and is very close to the pool. The pool wasn’t crowded at all during the week we were there, which was great as we wanted to take a safe socially distanced vacation. We mainly cooked at home and ordered take out from several area restaurants. Walking distance to Oinks, a local ice cream parlor that we all loved. The beach and shops are very close and you can walk to them or ride your bike. There’s the most amazing sunsets at the beach! Everyone vacationing or living in New Buffalo are super respectful with distancing, wearing masks, etc and it felt very safe and we were able to fully relax while we were there. The owners were very responsive to our questions and gave us great ideas and tips for enjoying our stay. They even left us a cute welcome gift of local winery wine, cooler and glasses! We can’t wait to return!

New Buffalo Getaway

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. The house is conveniently located close to groceries, shopping, and the beach. The house is located in a beautiful setting of 13 homes surrounding a pond. It was well-stocked with just about anything a family could need. Our family especially enjoyed the pool and platform tennis. A gem in new Buffalo.

Wonderful accommodations and location

Our family of 8 adults, toddler and infant had a wonderful time. The pool is beautiful, convenient and most enjoyable. Quick drive to the beach. Easy walk to New Buffalo stores and restaurants. June 2020 Stay

We had a wonderful time. The owners were super communicative, helpful and generous. The house itself is well appointed, with everything you could need or want during your say - fully stocked kitchen, TV/Wifi, sound, gas grill and most importantly for us, access to the association pool. Even on a busy weekend when the public New Buffalo beach was super packed, the association pool only had a few people and there was plenty of room for the kids to play. It’s a quiet association neighborhood that felt removed from downtown New Buffalo yet downtown was only a few minute walk away! It was perfect for our small group with three kids and four adults.

Great amenities and location!

We had another wonderful stay at Our Happy Place. The location to downtown New Buffalo is perfect. It is simply a short walk into town. The community pool is just steps away from the back door plus the hot tub is an added bonus! Very easy check in and check out. Thanks again for helping us have a wonderful trip to New Buffalo!

Wonderful Place To Stay!

Stayed here in mid-June. It is truly a great place to stay in New Buffalo. We have been going to New Buffalo for many years with our children and now go with them and our grand children. Everyone thought this was one of the best places we have ever stayed. Very clean and comfortable with all the amenities! Well stocked kitchen, lots of clean linens, towels, including beach towels, etc. Swimming pool right down the walkway from the backyard. Free parking at the beach. We walked to all of our favorite places, Brewsters, Stray Dog and, of course, Oinks. Owners have thought of everything and were very accommodating, friendly and easy to deal with. We certainly will stay some time in the future, and will most likely stay here again next year, if available. Thank you to the owners for creating such a wonderful place to stay.

An Amazing Place To Stay!

This was just a fantastic place to stay. Close to beach and town, walk to shops and places to eat. The pool is almost in the backyard which is really nice to take a break from the beach. All the amenities of home. Comfortable beds and nice kitchen. Sitting on the back porch in the morning with coffee is so peaceful. Open floor plan allows everyone to be together. The hot tub is sweet! Powerful jets help after a morning run. For those bringing bikes, plenty of open country roads to ride and a nice running route along Marquette that is shaded and views of the lake. Lots of runners there in the morning. Stray Dog is a great place to eat and just down the street. Rosie's for breakfast is great too. At night Nancys ice cream is great for the kids. Amtrak train station to Chicago is just down the street. We took the train and spent the day. 90min each way. This will be on our list of repeat places to visit.

Charming home

What an amazing property! The cottage had all of the comforts you could ask for away from home. We loved the vicinity to the pool, which was very well maintained. The grounds were very peaceful and quiet as well. The kids enjoyed the swing set, pickle ball court, and looking for frogs by the pond. The home is equipped with kitchen essentials, comfortable beds, nice linens, and is beautifully decorated. The screened in porch was so relaxing at night! The hot tub is an added bonus as well. The beach is a short drive and easily accessible by car. The owners also include a beach pass, which is an awesome bonus given parking is $12 a day at the public beach. We enjoyed our time at the beach, although I was surprised at the volume of people on a couple visits. The sand is not really conducive to building sandcastles, but the kids still had a blast. There are no shells, but there are plenty of awesome skipping rocks, which the kids enjoyed. We didn't do any shopping in town, but there are plenty of cute shops. We did try Redemack's, which has good burgers. We also ate ice cream at Nancy's and Oinks, with Oinks being our favorite of the two! I highly recommend this beautiful home. The owners were delightful to work with and very accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and felt at home. Thank you for everything!
