I don’t often take the time to leave reviews, but I have to for this hotel because I don’t understand all the good ones and feel like they’re misleading. The hotel is in a great location and it’s quiet, but it’s very old and that shows. It’s pretty beat up, there’s one elevator that moves very slowly and is old so it shakes a little, and the hallways are very small. My room was adequate size for one person, but tiny by hotel standards. There’s no thermostat in the room so I couldn’t control the temperature. The only lights are lamps next to the bed. There’s no closet, but they do have a stand with hangers. The bathroom definitely showed its age and worst of all, I had NO hot water. I didn’t think anything of it when I washed up at night because it was at least warm, but the cold shower in the morning on a day that it was 30 degrees outside was maddening. The water pressure came and went too.
The bed was comfortable, though a bit sunken in. There wasn’t anywhere in the bathroom to put out your things since it’s an old pedestal sink, so you had to use the nightstand or bed.
Overall I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless you’re just looking for a cheap place to stay in the city that’s in a great location.
