Pretty boutique hotel. Nice bathroom. Spacious for a city room. Texts from concierge ensuring satisfaction with room, when I first checked in - and responsive. Like Vegas hotels. My only issue was staff member entered my room while I was actively and obviously in the shower despite indicating my request for privacy. Spoke w management, and despite my tremendous discomfort with the episode, I was made to feel responsible.

This is a great NYC hotel with decent sized rooms and a fun rooftop bar with amazing views. But what really made this hotel stand out as first-rate to us was the staff! At every turn they were all so very kind, courteous and helpful. We highly recommend a stay at the Refinery Hotel.

It was just ok for the price

Pros: Not much
Cons: Their staff
Location: Good location
The hotel is more concerned about the rooftop lounge than their guests. It's loud and the staff are not at all friendly. I have stayed at dozens of boutique hotels in NYC - for the price you could have a much nicer stay somewhere else.

Nice hotel. Great location.

Location: Near Times Square, Bryant Park, Grand Central Station, Empire State Building, Macys, Penn Station, Madison Square Garden.
The refinery hotel is in a great location near all the must see attractions in midtown Manhattan. The hotel staff was very nice and attentive to our needs. The rooms was small but comfortable and quiet (aside from the normal Manhattan noise). The room could do with less mini-bar offerings (a mini-bar fridge, a spread taking up half the desk and another whisky offering on a side table) and do more with basics like a coffee maker and drinking glasses. The rooftop bar was also a disappointment. One night it was completely closed for a private event and another night the outdoor part of the patio was closed for a private event. They also made us wait in line while a bouncer controlled who went up. First, hotel guests should be given automatic access. Second, when we did make it up it wasn't crowded and men were there with gym bags slung across their shoulders, not exactly the "hip see and be seen" crowd they made it appear. Despite the room concerns and rooftop disappointment, I would still recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Garment District.

Great hotel with the best vibe!!!

Pros: The main thing that stood out is the staff. They are like a breath of fresh air: young, friendly, helpful and oddly enough, adorable!
Cons: We were in the King Studio-while perfect in size, we could have used a hook or two in the bathroom for towels. Remember to request a coffee pot!
Location: The location is prime! Central to the things to do in Manhattan and in a safe, easy to access area.
From check in to check out the Refinery staff was without a doubt the best staff we have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Friendly, outgoing, and helpful, this group of young people just had us smiling the entire time and made us feel at home. The hotel itself is in a prime location, regardless of what your plans are in NYC. The decor is a fantastic mix of old and new. Being a native New Yorker, and traveler to the city several times a year, I am picky about my hotels and I can honestly say ~ the Refinery was the PERFECT spot for our stay!!!

Pleasant stay at Wallingford Homewood Suites

Pros: Liked the front desk staff, loved the room and comfortable bed
Cons: Later breakfast cut-off time would be nice
Location: We enjoyed the proximity to Middletown Ct and local eateries
Greatly enjoyed this stay at the Wallingford Homewood Suites. We arrived late in the day and the staff took good care of us and recommended a local place for dinner. The property was very clean and so was the assigned room. We loved the layout of the room and the very comfortable bed. We only stayed one day so didn't take full advantage of everything they had to offer. Definitely plan to come back again.
