Timeless classic hotel!!

Spotless pure class. This hotel is elegance and class at its finest. Room was gorgeous. Not over the top fancy, but everything you'd want and the best quality! Couldn't have asked for more. Everything was spotlessly clean!

Beautiful place...

I have stayed at The Waldorf often over the years. I was married there 4 years ago. It holds a special place in my heart. This visit, had issues in that my first 2 rooms were unacceptable due to inconsiderate guests SMOKING!!! My rooms smelled like a bar inthe 80's! Staff was VERY gracious in getting me upgraded to a nice room and gave me vouchers for the bar. World class, even when "no class" people can stay there!

Spacious

Pros: Everything is very tasteful and elegant.
Cons: The food was outrageously expensive. Even though we had three rooms of space we only had one very tiny toilet room.
Location: It is well located for shopping and theater.
Our room was a junior suite and it was huge. It had so much closet space and a separate sitting room and dressing room. It felt very luxurious!

The hotel is very beautiful and elegant. The staff was the most amicable and helpful that I can think, attentive to details. I would like to mention Patrick at the Peacock who was our server for a wonderful lunch we had before our room was ready. The location cannot be beaten, there is a subway at the corner, so we could go by taxi or subway to anywhere. The room was nice. I would go again in my next visit

New York City Hotel-Waldorf Astoria? EXPECTED MORE

1) The hot water in the room did not work the first few days. 2) The water in the shower did not drain quickly so while taking a shower we had to stand in ankle deep water. 3) The light in the bathroom would turn off or flicker on and off. (Felt unsafe). 4) The light on the night stand would also flicker on and off. (Felt unsafe) 5) The ice machine on our floor did not work. 6) The air conditioner did not work in the Hotels mini-mart.

Nice, but could be better.

Pros: I liked the location and that it is old and romantic. I loved the food. Some dishes were spectacular.
Cons: The rooms should be cleaned better. The staff should get some courses on manners and how to treat guests better.
Location: The location was perfect. There are so many stores near by. Very close to Sacks Fifth Avenue...It is a dream location.
The window shades do not close right. It gets too bright too early. The tub wasn't properly clean there was pink fungus growing on it. There were also coffee stains on the walls of the bedroom. They are rebuilding and the construction noise will start at 8AM or earlier. Some of the staff was nice, but others wouldn't even say hello. I was once asked to hurry up with my order at the Peacock cafe because the kitchen was about to close.

Seven night stay, second class treatment!

Dress to the nines or be left aside! Concierge was rude and talked down to us. Due to a late arrival wanted a small bite at Peacock Alley and was seated in the farthest possible table as our dress code did not meet their grade. Waited 30 minutes to be recognized we were even in the room and waited 40 minutes for a 2 salads and 2 drinks for $75! You kidding me? Classy lobby is beautiful however, but if your not part of the Rich and Famous you will be disappointed to say the least.

famous hotel with great location

Pros: location and old world magnificence
Location: outlined above
the waldorf Astoria is a breathtaking older hotel. the lobby was gorgeous and the checking in was quick and efficient. the room had beautiful high coved ceilings and the beds were very comfortable. the bathroom was a bit smaller than anticipated. the closet light would not shut off no matter how many switches we tried. the location of the waldorf couldn't of been better for our needs. we were on a friend shopping getaway and the hotel was walking distance to the main shopping areas of midtown manhattan. also close to rockefelller center and times square. I would stay at this location again
