Good hotel, great restaurant

Seems like a motel that has had a makeover, but a nice one though. Just stayed one night but got to enjoy the pool area and the restaurant at night. The food and service was great at the hotel restaurant.

Great hotel

We loved staying at the Wayfinder and we especially love that it's dog friendly. We enjoyed out room, it was spacious and comfortable. The pool was great too! The only thing would be the service for the restaurant/coffee shop and pool bar. It seemed as if no one was crossed trained or they would close early or not offer room service because the restaurant's phone didn't work. Every employee was extremely nice and accommodating but we felt the service was a bit disorganized and slow. Kudos to the kid making coffee on the 4th of July! He worked his butt off and I think was the only one working.

Has what you need. Decently close location to downtown 15 minutes uber ride to all the hot spots downtown. Avoid the little clam restaurant, slow and staff seemed overwhelmed and understaffed. Pool & pool shack is great. Lots of pool chairs And lounge areas to relax. Would recommend this property

I just wrapped up a week at Wayfinder Newport, and while the bones of the place are solid, the welcome mat felt more like a paperweight. The front-desk team seemed chronically understaffed (and under-enthused), greeting guests with the fervor of someone punching a time clock. Over seven days, I never once felt that warm “hey, we’re happy you’re here” vibe which is kind of the whole point of hospitality, right? Once you get past the reception snafu, the room itself hits all the expected marks: clean, comfortable, and exactly what you’d hope for in a hospitality-branded stay. The real MVPs? The pool, perfect for a midday dip—and the free bikes, which made exploring Newport effortless (and Instagrammable). Bonus points for the shampoo, conditioner, and soap they smell great and actually lather. On the flip side, the coffee line felt like a black-coffee bootcamp: long waits, zero hellos, and a restaurant that underdelivered on both food and friendliness. If you’re a caffeine addict or a foodie, temper your expectations. Bottom line: Great facilities, meh service. If Wayfinder wants to go from “fine” to “fantastic,” start by staffing up the front desk and injecting a little genuine smile into the mix.

A newer edition to Newport hotels, the Wayfinder is an extremely pleasant surprise that values the importance of hospitality. Not only is the property well kept, its mid-century design aesthetic has the perfect level of comfort and sophistication. In addition, the restaurant and cafe take pride in the presentation and freshness of their food, which you can easily experience with their daily F&B credit. As an event professional, I highly recommend adding the Wayfinder as a preferred property for both business and personal travel.

Check in was quick and we liked our King Parlor Suite on the 4th floor. Unfortunately the AC was weak and eventually not cooling during a heatwave. The young building engineer, Josiah, (he is a real asset) tried to fix it but eventually we had to change rooms but were upgraded to a suite with a wet bar. I wish we had been told about the bell carts when we checked in. It would have made moving 3 suitcases easier. We never used the bikes, pool or the fitness room due to the heat and pool crowding, but they looked clean. I wish the outdoor showers by the pool were stocked with shampoo, body wash and conditioner. We ended up dragging sand through the hotel from the beach. A quick shout out to Zee at the front desk. She was so professional and kind. We loved her attitude, helpfulness and manners! Manners matter.

Yes the sleeper sofa was decently comfortable for a mom and away from daughters in case I snored! I did not!

Highly recommend! Excellent place to stay! The suite is huge and very comfortable. It is well maintained and clean. Restaurant is very good but choices are limited, perhaps because it just opened. The lobby kiosk has delicious muffins and yogurt parfaits. It would be helpful if a guide to using the shower and room air conditioner were provided since they are unique. Free parking is a benefit and the $25 daily fee is offset by a cumulative $15 daily food voucher.

I was assigned a room in the first floor and not accesible thru the lobby. Had to go outside to acces the rose area. The entrance was unfinished. See picture below. Breakfast choices were very limited and expensive.
