Interior of the hotel was excellent. The staff was excellent also. Our room was very nice with lots of room but we did have a room with a private onsen. We had a room with a view of the river which was nice but several abandoned buildings along the river.

A great place to stay. We enjoyed the 3 days we spent here. Our room was exceptional with a private onsen overlooking the river and the mountains. The food choices were varied including western meals, Japanese meals and Chinese meals. This was our second stay at Asaya and we booked a suite with in-room hot springs bath. We enjoyed both public and private baths. There is nothing much to do close by, so we chose to stay back in the hotel, enjoying onsen, relaxation and their award winning breakfast and dinner buffets! Great place to relax. They have three public onsen baths and we booked a suite with in-room hot springs bath. There is no much to do around the hotel, but Nikko is a fee train stops away. Breakfast and dinner buffets were expansive and highly recommended. Staff are always friendly and polite.
