Room was clean & housekeeping arrived daily. Staff was friendly and helpful although some, such as housekeeping did not speak English. Landscaping is mediocre and looks rather tired (could use some weeding & mulch). This is a no frills hotel (no marble or glitz). Seems like a great place if you have young children. Area felt very safe and walking to beach is very easy. There is no literature in the room to offer layout of hotel, menus for the on site eateries, or details about reserving palapas or that they have chairs available to take to other beach’s you’d like to visit. This info is not on their website either. They held a bingo game outside one afternoon and on another in pool exercise but again nowhere any details about where or when. Just happened upon it. The free breakfast is plentiful of selections and quality of food is good, I found that the chafing dishes did not keep the food warm or hot. The scrambled eggs 6 days in a row were lukewarm at best as well as the pancakes and French toast.
The outdoor poolside restaurant and the indoor restaurant had the absolute worst service I have ever experienced. And this assessment was shared by other guests I spoke to. Way beyond slow “Island Time.” They seem to not have enough staff and get in each others way. Tell you I’ll be back in a minute and 15 minutes later still haven’t returned as an example. Deliver food and walk away and you have no eating utensils. After 3 meals there gave them up and went elsewhere.
