"4th visit to Ma'ukele Lodge, and i always stay in the Hawaiin Room. This place is a real gem. I love the Pahoa rustic vibe, the grounds are so unique, a discovery at every turn. The lave glow is amazing to explore. Rooms are very comfortable, beds are big, linens ard top quality and many smsll touches mske you feel welcome. Fridge and microwave, plates etc to be self sufficient. Breakfast is always amazing, fresh fruits and more, shared with the gekkos on the outside balcony. Raven and Mark make every effort to make your stay engaging, informative and memorable. Try to be there on Wednesday and go down the road to Uncle Roberts night time market, a real local experience. "

"Great place and space for our first visit to Hawaii. We really enjoyed the view of the ocean which could be seen from almost every room in the house. The upper bedroom balcony was great for spotting the whales off in the distance. Also enjoyed sipping my coffee out on the patio in the mornings as the sun came up. The little trail out to the rocks was a favorite spot for my husband to just take in the ocean views. The host literally thought of everything we would need for our stay. Appreciate having all the comforts of home during our stay. Although it may have been a little longer drive into town to the nearest Walmart, it was worth it to be right on the ocean in a private tropical like setting away from the “city” hustle and bussle. Only thing that might have made our stay even better would have been air conditioning. But then we wouldn’t have the sounds of the ocean to listen to with the windows closed. Thank you for making our 35th Anniversary trip to Hawaii an enjoyable experience. We’d highly recommend staying at Kai Hona Hal!"
