Meetup on The Terrace View with Private Parking
Meetup on the Terrace View is located in via del Celso, in the heart of the historic center of Palermo. Via del Celso has an ancient and fascinating history that dates back to the Punic-Roman period, when it constituted the northern border of the city, with a layout that has its roots in even more remote eras. Initially known as "ruga kes" or "sucac el kes" during the Arab domination, it later became "via del Cancelliere" in the 17th century, due to the monastery of the same name that was located there. The current name, "Celso", is an adaptation of its older name. The apartment is on two levels, on the second and third floors, and is furnished with antique furniture from the Liberty, Art Deco, 19th century Sicilian, and Vintage periods. It is embellished with antique paintings as well as objects from all over the world purchased by the owner, a travel enthusiast. Meetup on The Terrace View aims to be a meeting point for all people from all over the world, art connoisseurs and culture enthusiasts, within the historic setting of a 17th century building, where it is located, with a spectacular view of the roofs and monuments of Palermo in its private and exclusive use terrace. Luigi is great to work with! He is very responsive and quickly addresses any and all issues as they arise. The location of this apartment couldn't be better! It is steps from all of the great tourist spots in Palermo. While well equipped, the unit is a little "tired". Our primary concern with the unit is that the neighbor is a cigarette smoker, and the smoke smell can drift into the lower floor (bedroom and bathroom) of this apartment.
The location was great for exploring by foot. Lots of attractions and food options close by. Luigi was so helpful. He gave us restaurant recommendations and arranged our return airport trip. The welcome bottle of wine was a nice gesture and he even dropped off some fresh oranges one day. The deck is just wonderful. We ate several of our meals enjoying the space. Having a gas grill was a great bonus. There were about 20 steps up to the access to the apartment. There is one bedroom and a full bath on that level. Up a few more stairs there is a second bedroom with a small terrace and en-suite bath, up another 12 steps was the kitchen, dining room, terrace, full bath and the third bedroom. The kitchen is well equipped. Beds were comfortable. The whole apartment was clean and well stocked. It was a reasonable walk to the apartment from the train station. We were a group of 3 70 year olds and found the stairs very managable.
The apartment was enormous and furnished beautifully. The beds were comfortable and the shower water pressure was very good. The terrace has both a lounging area and a table and you have a beautiful view of the roofs in Palermoâs historic center. Our host Luigi was very responsive and sent us a great list of restaurant recommendations. The private parking was very convenient and his assistant Mrs. Giada met us at the garage to help us park and showed us the apartment. She also helped us book a taxi to see the Valley of the Temples. The location is right near Via Maqueda & Via Vittorio Emanuele, but very quiet. We hope to stay here again the next time we visit!
