Reviewer Comments:
We started our vacation with no air conditioner. Because it was later in the evening, it wasn't a priority to any of the staff. We even asked for fans, but just got blown off. We'd brought my mother with COPD along with us. It was fixed the following day at 10 am but that left her spending the next couple of days trying to recover. The room was very dirty. There's a black ring around the bathtub. The floors were covered in sand but there was no broom for me to sweep them myself. The couches and beds were covered in sand as well. The couches were scheduled to be cleaned on Wednesday at 10 am. I wasted several hours of my day waiting for the cleaners. They never showed up. I have 3 athletic teens and I enjoy lounging on my pool float. No floats or toys in the pools or pool areas. You're pretty much only allowed to walk/wade in the pools. No food/drink within 4 feet of the pools so if you sit in the lounge chairs facing the ocean, no food or drinks. The public restroom toilets were overflowing every time I went in. Sitting on the outside deck would give you a second hand high from the marijuana. Security told us we couldn't use the gym, even though we had a gym code. We were told owner usage only. The marketers are great but this condo is definitely overpriced for what it actually is.
The Boardwalk Beach Resort has always been a favorite place for us to stay. This time was also great but it wasn't clean! The toilet bowl hadn't been cleaned for awhile, there was mold in the bowl. The floors hadn't been mopped. After taking a shower you could walk around barefoot and your feet would be black from the dirt on the floors. I get that there might be a little sand on them but we definitely had to wear shoes at all times. It would also be nice if there was some spray cleaner left under the kitchen sink so you could clean up better after using the kitchen. Another thing that would be nice is having extra toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, and dishwasher soap. I get that some people might steal those items when they leave (which Is bad) but at least have enough for the days people have booked there. Maybe I'm the only non stealing clean freak?? We truly love the resort!
It took an hour for us to have access to the condo, 6 hour drive with excited kids and we did everything we were told at arrival and we kept being told no go back to that building so after several trips back and forth we finally got in an hour later. On check out day we were actually trying to leave early so loading and they had already deactivated the card key 2 hours before check out time. Really nice place but I don't think the property owner is OK with this type check in and check out process. Also if they are paying cleaning fees then they aren't doing good either. Sand still on beds, you could tell the counters were not cleaned and it is hard to sweep sand but def had not been swept. We enjoyed every minute there while we could. We truly hate we missed out evening on our first day but we made sure our kids were happy. Not sure who the property manager is so can't really say.
Condo was spacious and comfortable for the most part. Sofas could use some shampooing and the toilet was having trouble flushing most of our stay. Our 8 yr old loved the bunk bed; if your child rolls in their sleep I would not recommend the top bunk, no protection railing
Property is old, hopefully the renovations bring some nice updates because we love the location of the property. The food at the pool side bar is lacking; my fried seafood platter was pretty bland; good drinks! Love the location of the pool!
