In an exclusive and secluded location, wonderfully quiet on a six-hectare promontory property with a grandiose view overlooking the sea and the coast below, the holiday home “Villa La Salamandra” exudes a romantic Mediterranean atmosphere and an undeniable feeling of luxury. The sea view is one of the most beautiful on the entire coast, and a heavenly sandy beach is right at your feet. The country villa, which is accessed via a private driveway, has been restored with great attention to detail, without affecting the Mediterranean atmosphere of the farmhouse, an ancient and aristocratic hunting lodge until the beginning of the last century. Terracotta, wrought iron, natural stone walls and wooden beamed ceilings make the house a splendid holiday home in one of the most magical and enchanting places on the Costa degli Dei. Both the large apartment on the ground floor and the comfortable "annex" are offered for rent, completely independent from the body of the villa. The annex (about 40 square meters) can be rented for a second family or a group of friends as it has two bedrooms, each with its own "en suite" bathroom, a small kitchen, its own outdoor area and a large terrace-solarium above. The annex is not rented separately, but with the rest of the ground floor, to ensure maximum privacy for guests of the house. The large outdoor space is reserved for the ground floor apartment for exclusive use and offers several terraces and a porch overlooking the port and the fortress of Tropea to linger in the open air: and from everywhere you can enjoy the exciting view of the sea and the heavenly beach below, as well as the island of Stromboli immediately in front.
The garden, terrace and porch are equipped with tables and chairs for outdoor dining and with two comfortable outdoor lounges to spend long evenings and unforgettable sunsets.
There is also the possibility of grilling in the garden thanks to the dedicated barbecue area.
The most suggestive point is certainly the space created around the ancient monolith on the overlook, ideal for aperitifs at sunset and illuminated for unforgettable evenings.
But the strong point of the property is undoubtedly the private path to the sandy beach below directly from the garden. Guests will find at their disposal at the end of the path, near the small gate to the beach, umbrellas and deck chairs that they can use and arrange as they wish. On the way back from the beach to the house, there is the possibility of taking an outdoor shower in the garden.
The property is completed by a beautiful above-ground swimming pool that is extremely modern and functional, equipped with hydromassage stations and night lighting, as well as a large solarium equipped with deck chairs and an additional shower.
The apartment and the annex together offer space for up to 9 people. A laundry room with washing machine is available to guests of the apartment and the annex.
Surroundings:
About 200 meters from the house there is a small grocery store where you can do your basic shopping, and on the beach below there are two good restaurants. The small and quiet village of Parghelia is just a 5 minute walk from the property and has more grocery stores, pharmacy, car/scooter/bike rental, minimarket with takeaway service, bars and restaurants, pizzerias and ice cream parlors, beauty salon and hairdresser.
On Friday mornings in the center of Parghelia there is a food market where you can buy tasty local products while every morning there is a food market in Tropea.
To reach the famous town of Tropea with its beautiful ancient historic center (in 2021 elected "Borgo dei borghi" the most beautiful in Italy), you can choose to walk along the beach below or use the main road that runs along the port and then go up the ancient stone steps, all in a time span of 10 to 15 minutes maximum.
