Such a great place to rest and relax with the family. Kitchen was fully equipped for large dinners, and the house was immaculate. Amy is responsive and a pleasure to work with. And many thanks for getting the dock out early for us!
We have been going to Minnesota fishing for 30 plus years. This has been the most comfortable and accommodating place yet. Amy was very helpful and pleasant. Kitchen was spacious and well equiped. Family friendly - ample seating for everyone. Plenty of parking. Lake view excellent.
This was a great place to say we were here for a week with no issues. We caught lots of bass and bluegill i even got lucky and scored a pike. The water is crystal clear you can see all the fish and everything. Highly reccomend if your looking for a good place to stay if you want to experince the lake life.
The cabin was a wonderful family retreat! Everything was furnished with quality kitchen items, bath towels and soaps, beach towels and beach toys. Our grandchildren enjoyed the upstairs play area and unique toys!! The screened in porch and deck was perfect for family breakfast and dinners. The pontoon was great for fishing with the littles and sunset cruises. The eagles nest made us feel right at home in the Park Rapids lake area. We will definitely consider coming back again real soon with the whole family!!!
This is a beautiful, well furnished property. The house was very clean and well-equipped. Beds were comfortable and there was something for everyone-from toddlers to teens. We enjoyed the water equipment and on rainy days the younger children spent time in the loft play area. The screened porch was a perfect dinner spot and the 2 deck areas had lots of comfortable seating. Communication was prompt and easy. Highly recommend.
My family and I had a wonderful week long stay, the house was spacious, clean and inviting. We thoroughly enjoyed fishing, kayaking, boating, swimming, paddle boarding and floating on Lake Pickerel, along with great bonfires and making sâmores in the evening with a beautiful view of the lake. Being able to use all the paddle boards and Kayaks was amazing and so fun!! We rented their pontoon and had many hours of enjoyment fishing from it as well as swimming in the middle of the lake. On days that it rained, we played board games and cards for hours (thank you for the great variety of board games!!) - we were never bored. The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed cooking most of our meals but did enjoy a few delicious meals in Park Rapids! A huge thank you to our hosts for answering all our questions and giving us this amazing place to spend time with our kids- many great memories were created! It was a great week! Thank you also for your advice on walking paths, bike trails and pickle ball courts! I hardly wanted to leave, it was such a great week!!!! Thank you Pickerel Hideaway!!!
10 of us ages 3 months , 3 yo and adults had a blast kayaking, playing on the beach, floating by the dock, fishing, pontooning, playing bags ! We loved cooking meals together in their well stocked kitchen and loved having an extra fridge!! We loved the screen porch in the evening and playing games out there!! One of the highlights for our 3 yo grandson was the outdoor shower!! We love this place and have come here the last 3 years!
This was our second stay and once again it did not disappoint! The property is fantastic, the boat was updated and in excellent condition. Lots of fun fishing, swimming and family time. Amy is an amazing host and answers you very quickly! Highly recommend this property!
This year, we decided to plan a lake vacation with our adult children and their families. This house and amenities were outstanding! Plenty of sleeping space, clean and beautiful house, with great lake view and access. Everything is there that is needed for a lake vacation...floaties, games, kitchen has everything a person needs. Pontoon is available to rent, which was awesome to have!! Amy was a great host! We WILL be returning next year. Thanks Amy!
We have stayed at this cabin several times and always look forward to returning. The property is perfect for our two families and Amy has everything you could think of for a lake property. We really enjoyed the new paddle boat! Amy is a wonderful host and we plan to return.
We had a large group stay for a week at this property and had the best time! It had plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. We had ample room for all of our vehicles to park, along with space for a boat. The extra fridge in the garage was a huge bonus. The kitchen was well stocked with starter supplies, and all the utensils you could need. They had a large assortment of games to play and the kids loved the upstairs toy area! We were able to catch many fish right from the dock, including Northerns, Bass, and Panfish! The kids loved playing on the beach and using the included kayaks/paddle boards! We rented the pontoon for the week and took it out on the lake multiple times. Amy was great about showing us how to get everything going. The property was well kept and Amy was great to work with!
Our family really enjoyed staying here, highly recommend! The home is spacious, well-maintained, and the grounds were amazing. A perfect getaway for family to relax, go fishing, ride on the pontoon, and play cards on the screened in porch. Amy and her family were wonderful hosts. They were responsive and easy to work with. Couldnât ask for a better place to vacation with awesome hosts!
The property is beautiful and immaculate! The amenities are excellent as well. The kitchen is stocked with every day essentials such as flour, sugar, spices, oils. The boat was in excellent condition and we had a lot of successful fishing trips on it. Amy responds to you very quickly and she makes sure all your questions are answered and needs are met! I highly recommend this property for a fun and relaxing vacation!
Amy and her family have a very nice property to use. Their attention to detail is the best we have seen. My wife has been taking a summer "Up North" vacation for over 50 years. We decided to try Park Rapids this year and we are glad we are back. It is a great place to spend a week, lots to do and plenty of local amenities.
Back to Amy and her family, the place is very well appointed and everything is well thought out. You can see they take pride in what they are offering you and your family to use. We highly recommend a stay with them.
Our first impressions of this lake house did not disappoint as we entered this beautiful home!! Everything that one could possibly need plus much more were already at the house!! The grounds were very well taken care of, the beach provided hours of entertainment for our children and they loved the log for their sleeping area! We canât wait to stay here again next summer!!
Our family had a wonderful week at Pickeral Hideaway! Amy and Diane were great hosts, they were very responsive and fun to talk with. The house was awesome, everything we could have expected and more! The house and property were immaculate.
The house was well stocked with everything we needed, kitchen supplies, bathroom supplies, etc. We used the grill several times during our stay. The toy room upstairs was great for the kids. I sat in the screened in porch every day just watching the lake and wildlife.
There were so many things for everyone of all ages to do, water toys, kayaks, paddle boards, a pedal boat, fishing off the dock, and on and on. We rented the pontoon for the week; it was a hit as well. Upon arrival, Amy gave us a tour of the lake which was nice. The sandy beach was a hit with the kids.
Park Rapids is a neat town, there are several stores to get groceries and supplies. There is a lot of local shopping options downtown, and some larger chain stores as well. If ice cream and candy is appealing, you will certainly want to go downtown, we did (twice)! Itasca State Park is about a 30-minute drive north. It is worth the trip to see where the Mississippi River begins.
This was the 6th year of our family taking a trip like this, somewhere different each time. Each year we spend the last day thinking of pros and cons for the review. We could not come up with anything negative. Everything was perfect and we hope to come back!!
All 8 of us ages 2-67 enjoyed the pontoon, paddle board, kayaks and beach! The sleeping options worked great for our family and cooking was a breeze with a well stocked kitchen! Amy is very responsive and friendly and a pleasure to work with! The telltale sign that we love this place is that weâre booked for next year! Itâll be our third year vacationing here!
This was our second stay in this beautiful cabin, and it just keeps getting better! The kids love the water and fishing. The adults love the boat, fishing, and peaceful atmosphere. The cabin is immaculate and spacious. The location is perfect, remote and quiet, but still close enough to Park Rapids if supplies are needed. We will definitely be back!
This property is impressive, very clean, cabin friendly furnishing, kitchen has everything, screened porch was bug friendly and several bedrooms for children and adults.
The property was on Pickerel Lake. They provided many games, firewood for campfires, and fun water toys for all ages (6-60's). We rented the pontoon and everyone enjoyed cruising, fishing, sunset rides, etc.
The landlord was friendly & great to answer questions. We enjoyed meeting them and fit right in with us.
Thank for a wonderful family vacation from all of us !!!
