I loved the location. Hiking along the river was lovely. The gardens were beautifully maintained. The aesthetics of the building was magical. Most modern hotels contain a small refrigerator. This one did not. The staff did provide us with a bag of ice for keeping things cold overnight. Hotel some distance from towns and we did not want to drive back into town to get supper. We got the restaurants three course meal, which, between the two of us, cost almost as much as the overnight accommodations. I was no à la carte option.

The room was lovely and spacious and the garden rooms are very dog friendly. It was great having direct access to the outside from the room for our dog and she loved the large grounds. It's very handy having a fridge in the room and breakfast was excellent. Staff were very friendly and attentive. This was our 2nd time here and we'll be back.

Our stay at Ballathie was excellent. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were so friendly and helpful, the food outstanding and the grounds stunning. The grounds are beautiful. I stayed in a river view room with a balcony: so peaceful and relaxing. The room was very nice, but if your priority is a good mattress and plump pillows, mine were not great. But not terrible either. The staff are friendly and helpful overall. Scottish breakfast was good. Several large groups moved through in the 4 days I was there, so it became quite bustling.

Beautiful location, staff very welcoming and attentive. Excellent evening meal in the restaurant on both nights we stayed. Attention to detail of the staff was superb. The hotel is undergoing a running update so things will only get better. Thoroughly recommend, we will be returning.
