The reservation I set up was a pkg with the airlines. After the reservation was set up I wanted to stay closer to friends on the north side of Perth rather than the south side (safer area according to friends) and the friends had free accommodations for me and my sister which would have saved several hundreds of dollars on our travel budget. Expedia contacted the hotel on more than one occasion approx 1 week prior to the trip but Metro Hotel would not offer any type of refund. The 1st night we checked in we did not have the 2 king beds that I had requested well in advance of the trip. The bath tub had flaking and staining around the drain. We stayed the following 6 nights in our friend’s accommodation near Hillary’s and returned to Metro hotel for 2 nights. At that point Metro hotel did allow us a room with 2 king beds although when we arrived the room smelled of sewer until the air conditioning was able to clear out the odor. If it weren’t for these reasons I would not have put a negative review because the staff was very helpful with public transportation needs. We were told the chef was fairly new to the establishment and the food was very good with fast service but they didn’t have one of my favorite breakfast items on the menu any longer although it was advertised on the web page menu. The hotel was on the public transport system which was useful to us in our rather short stay of 3 days/nights of 13 of the original reservation.
