One-Star Review for Harness Resort: A Terrible Experience
I had an incredibly disappointing stay at Harness Resort, which I booked through Expedia for $248 for two nights in their top-tier Deluxe Suite. In addition, I paid around 7,000 Nepali Rupees extra for food and drinks, making this experience even more frustrating.
From the moment we arrived, the service was terrible. The resort staff didnât even know we had booked the Deluxe Suite. The manager had to make a call to confirm our reservation instead of welcoming us properly. The receptionist gave us an unwelcome look, making us feel like we didnât belong, despite paying for the best room.
The resort seemed to cater more to political party gatherings than to regular guests. During our stay, there was a loud and crowded seminar, which ruined the peace and quiet we expected. We were disturbed multiple times by loud knocks around 10 PM, which felt unsafe and scary.
The food was another major letdown. I was particularly dissatisfied with their Chicken Shank. The idea of chicken gravy over mashed potatoes and fried rice with old cabbage on top was bizarre and unappetizing. The quality was far below what I expected for the price we paid.
On the day of checkout, I asked for the bill, only to be given a copy that still included the room charges, even though I had already paid online. I had to explain this again, highlighting their poor customer service.
Despite seeing many good reviews, my experience was awful.
From the moment you arrive and are greeted with a cool towel and a drink to cool down after a hot journey, Sunset Resort nails it. The resort is stylish and the rooms are spacious. The location is awesome, offering panoramic views of the Annapurna Range from you balcony, or the pool if you like. The staff are welcoming, professional and nothing is too much trouble, with the standard response to any request being 'no problem, I will bring it. NO worries, I will arrange it. No problem, we will drop you off and pick you up' etc. The breakfasts are amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back next time we're in Nepal.
