I had to call the police because the black lady who occupied the room across from mine was beating the children. I still can not get the screams of the children out of my head / mind. Equally disappointing is the FACT that the Portage police did nothing about it. The officer did not even check the children. JUST HORRIBLE ... I recommend this place to close down for good. And an investigation focusing around the Portage Police Department's policies and procedures dealing with child assault and battery, abuse.

Employee that checked me in was friendly and was able to recommend some restaurants clise by. Small but good free breakfast. Layout of the rooms was a little odd but some of the rooms have been remodeled.

Comfortable for business travel

I just want a clean and comfortable room when I travel - I don’t spend a lot of time in the room beyond bathing and sleeping. And this hotel gave me what I needed: a clean and comfortable room at a good price. Though the room did show some signs of age, it was kept up well and appeared to have been remodeled. As others noted, there is no closet to hang clothes - only a couple of hooks. But that was fine for my one night. Bed was comfortable and the breakfast simple, but sufficient to save me the time and money of eating out before my day’s activities.

The bathroom was dirty, there is mold on the walls, the TV doesn't work, the bathroom door handle is broken, the hallway smells pretty bad, there was no fruit for breakfast, the receptionist was in a bad mood

If it wasn't for the front desk, I wouldn't of stayed at this hotel as long as I did. I saw a mouse running down the hallway. House keeping bangs on the door at 10am like they the police which was an hr before check out and our reservation was booked for another night. Then they play the no speak English. If I didn't have a do not disturb sign on my door, house keeping entered even though I told the front desk no house keeping. The front desk is the only good thing about this hotel.
