Best beach condo in Priceville
Super close to the beach . Amazing golf course near by! Can’t wait to stay here again
I was a little nervous to book after reading older reviews, but took a chance and we're very happy we did! This condo was great!! It was perfect for our family of 5, plus Grandma, to stay for the week. The 3 separate bedrooms were nice for everyone to have their own space. The open living/dining area was great to share meals and watch TV. The back patio lanai was nice for some private outdoor space. We didn't use the lanais off of the two main bedrooms, but it was nice to have the options. The appliances were newer, and in great working order. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans & dishes for making meals. The entire condo appears recently updated with nice flooring & quartz countertops in the bathrooms and kitchen. It was very clean, which is hard to do in HI with open windows and red dirt. The king bed in the master and the queen in the 2nd bedroom were very comfortable. The twin beds in the 3rd bedroom were "just ok", according to my two teen boys. But they appreciated that the room was nice & dark to sleep in late. The location of the condo is great for taking walks around this large Princeville area. It was only a 5 min drive, or 10 min walk, to several shops & restaurants, and Foodland grocery store. The drive to Hanalei was 15 min, where we enjoyed the beaches and many shops & restaurants. The pool in this complex is as pictured, small and basic. But we were happy to go to the beach instead! The condo has chairs, beach toys & beach towels to complete our stay!
On June 5th, we arrived at the rental property, only to find it in a condition far below our expectations. The house was unclean, with dead cockroaches and ants scattered throughout. The carpeted areas were filthy, doors were falling apart, and there were holes in doors and walls near the baseboards. Additionally, the upstairs toilet seat was broken, the bathtub upstairs lacked caulking, and there were safety concerns with the wiring in the dining room that posed a fire hazard. These conditions provided ample places for bugs and spiders to nest. Moreover, despite efforts to cool the home, the temperature remained uncomfortably warm, making it challenging for everyone to sleep or spend time indoors. We had to keep windows open and fans running constantly.
Each morning, my daughter woke up with new bites on her body, which were not present the day before. Consequently, we decided to check out of the condo on June 8th at around 7 pm. While we appreciate the refund of the cleaning fee, cleanliness was not our sole concern. The property's actual state did not align with the misleadingly attractive photos on the rental site. As my wife is someone familiar with preparing homes for the rental market through her work with interior designers, I understand the standards required. While some renovations seemed promising, many appeared unfinished or overlooked.
