The view must be magnificent, an uncrowded beach within walking distance is a basic requirement, the living space will be clean and attractive - and, of course, you must be totally comfortable and content in your tropical surroundings..Pali Ke Kua 112

That place is an immaculate, one-bedroom condo in a small resort called Pali Ke Kua. Located in Princeville on Kauai's North Shore, it captures that sense of seclusion you're after without the inconvenience of being stranded on a deserted island.

The view from the condo is an uninterrupted landscape of ocean, sky and mountains. That beach you're looking for is at the end of a hiking path along a sea cliff outside your door. The locals call it Hideaway's, and it's actually two sandy coves about 15 minutes away.

Decorated in shades of yellow with touches of orange, this condo features gleaming hardwood floors and stainless steel appliances. It's airy and cheerful and a good place to observe the patterns of the day, particularly sunset when the sun falls over Mount Makana, hits the sea and bursts into the last hurrah of the day.

A fully equipped kitchen makes cooking easy, and eating out is no trouble either. There are several restaurants within walking distance, one in the resort, others in the nearby Princeville Hotel. A large market and a number of other retail stores are available in the Princeville Shopping Center, and nearby Hanalei is populated with restaurants, clothing and gift shops and another market. If the mood strikes, there are plenty of things to do on the North Shore including hiking, horseback riding, helicopter rides and dancing.

Everything was fantastic! The location was perfect. In the mornings we would walk to 1 Hotel for coffee. The view could not be beat! So many rainbows! We waited until the last morning to walk down the paved trail to the private beach and couldn't believe we hadn't been there every day. It's steep, but worth it! The condo was very nice and it was not a problem to not have AC (November) and the fans made it very comfortable.Things to check out in the area: Kenji Burger (delicious!), Limahuli Garden and Preserve, Trilogy Coffee, Kalalea Juice Hale (best acai bowls!), Kuilau Ridge Trail, Makai Golf Course, Hanalei Bay Massage, Tunnels Beach for sunset

You can't beat the views here! We really enjoyed our stay. It did get a little toasty in the afternoon when the sun set, especially while cooking, but it cooled off within a few hours.The walk down to the beach is a very steep, paved walkway. It's not the kind of beach to really hang out at, as it's mostly rocks and course sand. See photo. It is beautiful, however, and fun to see the little tide pools.We made it our goal to be home each night at sunset. It never disappointed.

Absolutely stunning. I couldn’t think of a more perfect place in paradise to take in the northern shore of Kauai. Great location to beaches, restaurants, grocery and more for both walking and driving. Sunsets for a lifetime, beautiful wildlife and clean amenities/grounds. Host was very informative, responsive and helpful both before and during our stay. Their management team was great. Nothing broke or was needed during our stay but I’m sure if it was an issue we couldn’t live without, they would remedy quickly and effectively. Until next time!

Vacation in paradise

This condo met all our expectations. It was very clean and just the right size for a couple. It was very nice to have updated features and furniture. The bed was very comfortable, which is always something we worry about. Nice to have both ceiling and floor fans. The only thing we would have liked is for the ceiling fans to have different speeds. We appreciated having beach chairs, umbrella and a small cooler accessible. We love Princeville and the location of our condo was perfect. It was also close to the paved path down to the residents’ beach. We would definitely come back to stay here.

Fabulous stay in Princeville

This was our 1st time on Kauai, It was recommended that we stay in Princeville for the sheer beauty of the area. They were right we loved the North side of the Island as well as Princeville. It is truly picture perfect. The condo was located on a bluff with a gorgeous view. The condo was the perfect size for 2 people. There are restaurants and coffee shops close and the town of Hanalei Bay is just a few minutes away. The Hidden beach below the Condo was very nice and I did some snorkeling there and saw to many turtles to count. All and all we highly recommend the area for you next stay.

The best place to stay!

I cannot say enough great things about this place - we loved every minute of our stay here and wish we could have stayed longer. The place is beautiful and clean, the location could not be better, the beach down below is a steep walk but short and every time we were there we practically had it to ourselves. The sunset views are amazing. Ten out of ten would stay here again!

Condo was just as listed on the website. Very clean, well appointed kitchen except lacking any spices or condiments, including salt! There was a set of beach chairs and an umbrella in the closet. lanai was lovely, we spent a lot of time just relaxing and looking at the amazing view-a great place to relax. Honeymoon Dream Vacation

We had the most FABULOUS stay at this location that is in the heart of Princeville the Northshore of Kauai. The owner has up to date modern motif that we felt right at home with. Bed comfortable, superb quality of kitchen essentials and they even had chairs and an unbrella that came quite in handy. It's booked with the assistance of Kauai Rental Properties who streamlined the entire process providing great service and left us goodies! Beautiful location on bluff with ocean views toward "Bali Hai." Peaceful, low density condo complex with pool and lush landscaping. Nicely decorated unit with well equipped kitchen. Beach chairs and umbrella provided and appreciated. You won't be disappointed!

Everything in this downstairs unit was as stated. The only problem we had was with the TVs, not that we came to Kauai to watch TV!! . The directions were not clear for either TV. Finally the property manager and I figured it out. Check your pool key card right away. Ours had not been activated but was easily remedied on-site. And again, I didn’t come to Kauai to sit by a pool!! The location is perfect for doing things on the north shore. The Princeville shopping center is right next door, a nice walk along the path. (Hint: there’s a public bathroom at the Makai Golf Course, next to the restaurant) Hideaway Pizza is right on site and has excellent pizza. Nightly sunsets are spectacular. The grounds are kept up nicely. I would stay here again.

We liked - gorgeous view of oceanfront - beach chairs available for use - cleaning supplies for laundry and dishwasher What we think could be done better - bigger Cooler for the beach -ice packs for cooler -coffee available upon arrival - we arrived in evening and would have been nice to have coffee available until we had opportunity to go out and buy some the next day - tupperware and ziploc bags available for use - better heating BBQ - wouldnt go past 350F which makes it hard to sear/cook a good steak What was uncomfortable were the fruitflies in the bathroom at nights . From the moment we arrived in the evening there were fruitflies everynight in bathroom ceiling above mirror

Paradise for two

Location, location, location! Pali Ke Kua 112 is the perfect place for a couple to stay - so much better than a traditional hotel with its amount of space, location, relative privacy, and an ideal view. Hideaways and Pu'u Poa beaches are within walking distance (as long as your knees can handle the down and up hill slopes on pavement, stairs, and/or nature trails). Morning walks to the Princeville Fountain were lovely 3.5- to 4-mile round trips. Queen's Bath is nearby, and Hanalei is a short drive. Some may have trouble without A/C, but the ceiling fans in the living and bedrooms help with circulation. The community hot tub was great and the pool is smaller with the restaurant overlooking both, but neither were crowded when we used them. Kitchen was nicely equipped, and the appliances are newer. The sofa appeared to have a pull-out bed. If stuck indoors due to weather, emerging global pandemics, etc., this property does not have a lot to do - only one puzzle, a couple of books, some small hand weights in the closet, and a few DVDs. Since wi-fi was reliable, there was plenty to occupy us while Mother Nature brought the Kona low for a few straight days and some of our activities were cancelled. Still, all we needed were our binoculars, Kindle, and Chromebook then we sat out on the lanai to take deep breaths and enjoy that view! We surfed a few times at Hanalei Bay and Hideaways and even caught a baby whale from the lanai while waiting for another beautiful sunset. The property management staff at Kauai Vacation Rentals was amicable, communicative, and innovative through the Hospitality app. A wonderful vacation spot, and we would not hesitate to book here in the future.

Great View and Location. Needs AC and Bug Control

The location and view are fantastic. This is a well-appointed property with all the necessities. It was very warm during the day as there is no AC. It cooled off at night with the windows open. We kept all screens closed at all times, and were very quick in opening the door. Unfortunately, with the main sliding doors open, the screens were not able to keep out mosquitoes or other biting bugs. We got a number of bites in this condo.

Stunning sunsets

This was the best place! The sunsets were out of this world. The appliances were new. The place was clean. Having laundry available was a bonus. The down side was a harder bed. If you want air conditioning, this is not your place. Although the fans and ocean breezes kept it cooler at night, daytime got very warm. Also, opening the silverware drawer by opening the oven first was a bit of a nuisance but not too bad since you’re on Kauai’i. No worries. The location was absolutely perfect. Overall, I would rate this stay 4.7 out of 5.0.

Loved every minute!

This was my 3rd time staying in the complex - first time in this unit. The view is amazing. We had dinner on the patio overlooking the sunset almost every night. The condo is comfortable, quiet and clean. The bed was on the harder side for my taste but that’s a minor detail. We’ll definitely be coming back here. Aloha!
