The room was clean, we expected 2 queens as advertised but they failed to mention one of them was a Murphy bed which led to very little space to move around with 4 people. It got cleaned on a daily basis which was awesome. Bartenders and staff were amazing and lovely, its a beautiful resort. One downside was the food. Room service was always lacking esp the fries which apparently they run out quickly beacuse of the kids...? Kobo, akarat and delores mercado were out top places to eat. Its def more remote that the cancun hotel strip which was what we wanted. It was a fun trip.

Very Clean Resort with a Very Friendly and Professional Staff. Our room was nice, except for the VERY NOISY A/C Unit, which kept me awake all night, every night. The Cleaning Staff did a Very Good Job each morning, and we didn't have to wait until Mid-Day or Early Afternoon to have our room cleaned - like at many other resorts. The requirements for Dinner Reservations at every restaurant, with only 1 Buffet on site, made it almost unbearable given the Available Time Slots. Many ALL INCLUSIVE RESORTS offer a couple Dinner Buffets, and if this one did, we were unaware of it, and so was everyone else, given the Stampede of People waiting to enter the 1 Buffet when they opened at 6:30. Also, we had only 1 option for Breakfast and Lunch, unless there were other options -- located FAR from our room. Breakfast was OK, but Lunch was much better. The Beach Area was kept clean, but the Water and Sand Area was small and we didn't see anyone on the beach or swimming in the water. There are several Pools, but get there early to claim chairs. The Bars were nice and the Servers came around OFTEN to make sure you had a drink. Due to the NOISY A/C, lack of Nice Beach Area, and lack of Buffet Choices, I would rate this 3 Stars out of 5. However, the Dinner at Kobo, and the Ceviche and Crepes for Lunch, and the Coffee and Dessert Shop, make me raise my rating to 3.5 Stars.

The air conditioning thermostat never worked in our room. It was either on full blast or had to be shut off. We had to accept shivery ice cold blast all night or suffer sticky humidity and wake up to wet swim suits that never seemed to dry overnight. We chose the latter since we couldn't sleep with the powerful icy cold blast hitting our faces the entire night. We had two rooms and since the other room smelled like moldy mildew, we had requested to switch rooms.

We couldnt book for dinner for the first 3 days on arrival, because they were "full". dinner buffet that you dont need to reserve had line ups, with very limited options to eat. cocktails were below standard, juice from bars were horrible (orange juice was even worse than Sunny D). My room was only cleaned 1 time throughout the whole stay & towels only changed one time after we requested. Staffs make excuses blah blah.. Pool sides didnt have enough sunbeds and seatings. The beach was dirty with seaweed and the water was also dirty. I honestly do not know how this kind of resort could be rated 5 stars.. max 3.5 stars to me. Xcaret and Xelha had better food.

You don’t come to this resort looking for a beach…. But the food and drinks and amenities are beyond most resorts!!! In the area. Add a beach and it would be 10 stars…. (If possible)

There was the option for an upgrade but instead of just doing it they offered us the update for an additional cost Food was very good. Sadly the staff wasn’t very well trained. We often had to wait to be seated although there were a lot of empty tables. Staff didn’t seem to care at all where to seat you; for sure never had any thought about it. Tables were free but for sure you were seated at the least nice spot of the restaurant.

Pros: Great variety in dining options. Koba Japanese restaurant is the best! Very safe and secure. Clean modern amenities. Excellent value. Access to the other attached El Cid properties and all-inclusive amenities. Nightly entertainment. Good complimentary WiFi access across the properties for business travellers. Amazing staff!!! Cons: Beach access is about a 5-minute walk from Ventus Ha through either the El Cid Marina or El Cid Ventus properties. Wifi is limited to 2 devices. Overall, we were impressed and will definitely come again!
