My family and I stayed here for 6 nights. The staff was very friendly; however, there were many issues that occurred. They say that the ice and water are filtered, but many family members felt sick during our vacation. Perhaps it was the horrible food served in the buffet, snack bar, and specialty restaurants. The drinks were fine, and the pool was nice. There were a few things broken or not working in my or a family member's room. We would call the front desk for water, toilet paper, etc, and sometimes it would never come or we would have to call multiple times. We used the 24-hour room service (you have to pay for it), called and ordered, but the food never came. The only 5 stars I would give would be to the ladies in the spa; the massage was the best part of our vacation. We all were ready to leave when it should have been the opposite.

The food at the restaurants is just average and the buffet is below average. Room service was great and the food much better. Premium level didnt live up to the extra price. The resort is very loud overall if you are wanting a quieter relaxing vacation. The music rather poolside or the cantina can be extremely loud at times. The live misic that plays from 10:30-11:30pm was terrible id you wete trying to sleep or sit on the balcony. There was 2 weddings the week we were there and the loud latin music played was deafening to the rest if the resort guests. Our 2 credit cards only used at the gift shop were both hacked with several thousand dollars fraudulently charge. There were several questionable things that happened while we stayed at this resort for a week. I had high expectations after the reviews of this resort but our stay didnt live up to what others reviewed.

We enjoyed our stay. The place is a bit rough around the edges; grout in the shower needed reapplying, light switches were a little bit dodgy. Just a general bit of updating is needed. The staff were fantastic, the food was of a good standard, we just wanted more Mexican food!! The beach was beautiful and the pool area was immaculate. We'd definitely come and stay again.

What an absolute gem! I stayed here with my two teenagers for 5 days, and with so much to do, we were not bored for even one second. Fantastic all-inclusive resort with beautiful facilities, an amazing balcony view, and a wonderful staff all around. I felt welcome and appreciated from the moment i arrived until the moment i left. Barcelo is the definition of Paradise!

Love the Resort, great location and beaches, excellent pools, staff/bartenders. My only complaint is there wasn’t any Mexican a la cartes, and not really authentic Mexican food at the buffet. When in Mexico I want Mexican food. The snack bar did however have a fantastic taco bar. Such a beautiful place, wifi worked great. Comfy beds, highly recommend!! Cheers

WORST RESORT WE HAVE EVER STAYED IN! 95% capacity of this resort are local Mexicans who rate this resort, maybe to them this is 4 stars, but to a tourist not from Mexico, this is definitely not a 4 star resort, more like 2 stars! We have been coming to Puerto Vallarta annually close to 20 years now and this is by far the worst experience we ever had! CONS -WHERE DO I BEGIN?!?! FOOD-Buffet options are the same every day, food is absolutely horrible. Never went to an all inclusive where we were all hungry!! specialty dining is just as bad. Food is REALLY BAD! ROOM SERVICE - LIMITED MENU, ALL COMES FROM SAME BUFFET AND WAIT TIME IS NEVER WHAT THEY ADVISE YOU, WAITED AN HOUR AN HALF FOR UNDERCOOKED FOOD. SERVICE - poor service, long wait times. Hard to find any water bottles anywhere in the resort so you can have it by the pool or beach . Besides the room, only other place is in premium lounge which is also a joke! We always stay at 4 or 5 star resorts and this by far is not a 4 star "upscale resort" as they have listed. No beach service, get your own drinks and the only bar is a nice long walk! Save your money and your sanity, stay somewhere else!

My family enjoyed our stay. The staff were all welcoming. The beach was beautiful. The place was clean. The rooms were all comfortable and spacious. The iguanas were all respectful 😁. Some parts are dated but I'm okay with it. My critical feedback are to have the game room be free. This will add to the overall experience and not make it a useless space. Also, the ala cartes were a little hard book but can visibly see that they're not fully utilized.

We were very happy with the food and the room service option. The property is beautiful. We did have a hard time getting hot water in the shower. The bed and pillows could have been more comfortable. But, overall, this was one of my favorite places I've ever srayed.

Staff (specifically one lady) was very rude when we arrived at the hotel, we also were eating snack one day on our trip and noticed one of the workers/waiters pick off our plate and then handed it to us right after. The reservations for dinner were usually all booked up and we felt like we didn’t get our moneys worth that way. Other than some rude staff they pool, drinks and service were very delightful.
