My family and I stayed here for 6 nights. The staff was very friendly; however, there were many issues that occurred. They say that the ice and water are filtered, but many family members felt sick during our vacation. Perhaps it was the horrible food served in the buffet, snack bar, and specialty restaurants. The drinks were fine, and the pool was nice. There were a few things broken or not working in my or a family member's room. We would call the front desk for water, toilet paper, etc, and sometimes it would never come or we would have to call multiple times. We used the 24-hour room service (you have to pay for it), called and ordered, but the food never came. The only 5 stars I would give would be to the ladies in the spa; the massage was the best part of our vacation. We all were ready to leave when it should have been the opposite.

The food at the restaurants is just average and the buffet is below average. Room service was great and the food much better. Premium level didnt live up to the extra price. The resort is very loud overall if you are wanting a quieter relaxing vacation. The music rather poolside or the cantina can be extremely loud at times. The live misic that plays from 10:30-11:30pm was terrible id you wete trying to sleep or sit on the balcony. There was 2 weddings the week we were there and the loud latin music played was deafening to the rest if the resort guests. Our 2 credit cards only used at the gift shop were both hacked with several thousand dollars fraudulently charge. There were several questionable things that happened while we stayed at this resort for a week. I had high expectations after the reviews of this resort but our stay didnt live up to what others reviewed.

I think this place was average food was ok, service was ok, the pool was ok. For kids that are 3 to 4 feet tall, to be in the pool you need someone with them at all times because of the height of the pool. Theu have a kids pool but that is for kids under 2 years old. Overall nothing special everything was average, nothing that i can say i loved or would go back.

Quiet and well managed. Didn’t have to fight a crowd at 5am to get a lounge chair at the pool like you do at some resorts. Food was fairly good, some nights were better than others. Breakfast options were great and good coffee. Get there before 10am to beat the crowd. We only dined at one of the specialty restaurants. It was good but nothing to write home about - but nice for options. Wish the pool was open later, they shut it down at 8pm. Would be nice if it was open till 9 or 10pm because it was definitely still warm out. Grounds were beautiful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Easy to get a taxi to town. Excursions were easily accessible

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at this property. Unfortunately we didn’t receive all the amenities that we were supposed to like our fridge being stocked with beverages daily and had to ask for our complimentary robes but hey, we can’t really complain because all the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and the property was very beautiful and well maintained. We’re not really buffet fans but the specialty restaurants were amazing and the nightly shows and other entertainers were fantastic! We would definitely recommend this resort and will most likely return for another visit in the future.

Let me tell you what I LOVE! The staff especially Rene, Alan, Samuel, Jasmine and the week day chef who made me a tres leches cake fory birthday and the staff sang Happy birthday. This place is amazing and we are planning to return. I already suggested to my niece that they should honeymoon here. Is it possible to give a 10 star review? Because they deserve it!!

Our stay at Barceló was amazing, my family and I really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very attentive, the food was great. In all honesty this resort will be recommended to all my family and friends . 10/10 don’t forget to make reservations for all the restaurants they have for dinner. The buffet is open every day with no reservations needed.But they have certain restaurants that you need to reserve for your party.

We had a party of 11 and with everyone reading mixed reviews on the food some were discouraged, but we all went. We actually liked the food for the most part, and nobody got sick. Pur only complaint would be some of the management that wouldnt budge on things like accepting 1 more person on the special dining and some of the rules were kind of harsh aswell. I’ve experienced several hotels that’s provide your bracelet as soon as you arrive even though your room isn’t ready, Barcelo made us wait for us to get our bracelet until 3pm when our room was ready. Definitely will not be using them again. Traveling all day and night for us to not be able to enjoy as soon as we get there. Unprofessional!

Staff were rude, dismissive and didn’t care about my concerns. Ie, AC hardly worked, water was not coming out of shower head but the ceiling, dirty room and gnats in our room. The shower head was fixed but nothing else. VERY warm in bathroom. Couldn’t get ready in it. There were 11 of us and none of us felt very welcome as Americans. I will never come to this resort again.
