Overall good despite a couple of issues
The house was beautiful and very much like the pictures. There was plenty of space for the 5 of us. And it was nice to have a laundry machine.
A couple of small issues would have made it better. In the kitchen, there were plenty of wine glasses and coffee mugs. But there were only 3 or 4 regular glasses. For a house that size, there should be more regular glasses. Also, the bath tub in the master bathroom wasnât clean enough to use.
What really kept the house from being 5 stars were two things that made the owner/company come off as cheap. First, we were charged for the electricity we used. It was only another $100. But it felt like being nickel-and-dimed. It did say that we would be charged for electricity in the listing. But I feel like for a house that nice, I would have been willing to pay more up front and not had to deal with paying in the end.
The second bigger issue was that the listing stated that if the house was being rented for 7 nights or more, there would be an up front cash deposit. This would then be returned at check out. We were only staying 3 nights but were asked to pay a $200 (USD) deposit in cash. I felt that was questionable in general. Hotels do take deposits up front for possible incidentals or damages. But the deposit is taken on a credit card so there is some recourse if needed.
Despite these two issues, the house was in a great location and worked well for our family!
