Got cabin fever? Come to the mountains of the Red River upper valley, 8 minutes from town!

This large, 2500 square foot, open concept cabin is a “cabin away from home”. It is located four miles from the town of Red River and is close to dramatic hikes, skiing, snow-boarding!

Our cabin has plenty of room to stretch out and relax as you get away from it all. The large, modern kitchen has a glass tiled backsplash and is well stocked with dishes, utensils, stainless steel appliances, a crock pot, stock pot, pots and pans, blender, large toaster, coffee pot and much more.

Enjoy your meals from the indoor dining table while you take in the views of Wheeler Peak in front of you. Then head outside to the massive wrap around front porch! Enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail while you sit and take in the views and refreshing mountain air. During warmer months, take advantage of the patio furniture on the porch too!

A master king-size bedroom is downstairs and has an ensuite bathroom. with separate rooms for each sink!

All towels and bedding for the comfy beds are provided. You’ll also enjoy free WIFI at the cabin, as well at many of the shops and restaurants in town. We have a satellite TV downstairs. You can nap, hike, watch the hummingbirds, and just relax. The community center in town has free daily activities in summer, lots of fun for the entire family. The towns of Angel Fire, Taos, and Eagle Nest are no more than 30-60 minutes away.

If you're interested in skiing, here are the drive times to each of the resorts:

Red River Ski Valley: 13 mins
Angel Fire Ski Valley: 47 mins
Taos Ski Valley: 1 hour and 10 mins

When approaching the cabin, you will see majestic Wheeler Peak, rising 13,000 feet in front of you. The cabin sits at road level, perfect for parking your ATV trailer and NO 4WD or AWD is necessary in winter months!

This cabin and it’s fun and peaceful surroundings will help you and your family and friends create memories for years to come. We can’t wait for you to enjoy it!

Our cancellation policy is as follows:
Travelers who cancel at least 30 days before check-in will get back 100% of the amount they've paid. If they cancel between 14 and 30 days before check-in, they'll get back 50%. Otherwise, they won't get a refund.

This cabin worked out great for our family, we all enjoyed it. The wraparound deck was wonderful--coffee in the morning and wine at night while watching the deer next door. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed--better than most rentals! The location was excellent! We'd consider renting this same property again in the future.

The place was nice. There is a slight need for maintenance, ie a blind was broke in the dining room and trim was missing in upstairs bathroom. Parking is limited for more than one truck and trailer. It is a nice location for utv riding. Overall, I would suggest this place.

Snow top mountain views

The home is beautiful, Took my Grand Children ages 20 - 26, 7 of Us. Plenty of room. Our days were spent in Red river ski area and town. We cooked our meals at the cabin and had breakfast and dinner. fully stocked kitchen with lots of counter space. Views were wonderful, no snow, except on the top of mountains. temps got up to 60*f during the day and cooler at night. Host was available at all times. We look forward to returning with a group large enough to fill the place.

This place was Amazing!

This property far and away exceeded our expectations.. It was large and spacious, and the rooms were well equipped for a mountain cabin. The kitchen was well equipped.. the bathrooms were clean and well kept.. And modern. We will definitely stay here again with our family.

Birch Valley did not disappoint. Plenty of space for our family and beautiful mountain views. Loved how close it was to town, yet allowed you to escape to the mountains at night. Love, love Red River and this property. Thank you!

Cabin was perfect! Plenty of room and a short drive to Red River. There was also a hike that ended up by a lake towards the top of the mountain that was close by. Property manager was also great to work with. Would definitely stay here again.

Two Extremes

Upon arrival it was obvious the house had not been cleaned since the kitchen was dirty, bedsheets were scattered on the floor, etc. Our three families spent the first day of our stay moving our stuff back and forth between two houses, so there is no 5-star review here. However, once we were settled, the property was, as promised, located in a quiet, beautiful valley with excellent views. If you can be sure the house would be cleaned upon arrival, I would definitely recommend it.

The perfect place even in the snow

This was a beautiful house easily accessible even in the snow. The driveway was plowed each time it snowed. There was plenty of room for our group of 9 to spread out. The short drive back to Red River was easy as the roads remained plowed as well. Communication with Mrs. Lisa was great, she even checked in to ask how our week was going. This was the perfect place for our stay for our skiing trip and we intend to return.

Beautiful Cabin!

We enjoyed our stay so much. Tons of hanging space for coats, coveralls, etc. washer and dryer to get that snow gear clean too! Our favorite part was cooking in the kitchen then relaxing on the back deck next to the fire pit each evening listening to all the animal sounds. Lisa checked in on us and has been nothing but great! Would highly recommend this cabin for family get togethers.

You Have to Stay Here!

Each year this property provides us the space for a growing group of old college friends to get together, relax and enjoy the mountains. We had plenty of room to park 4 trucks with side x side trailers and there was 7 of us and all had their own bed. We had a couple of others that brought their wives and other family members that stay elsewhere, but we entertained 13 for dinner one night without feeling cramped. Thank you Lisa for great communication and checking on us during the trip.

Peak Aspen color!

We stayed for our 20th anniversary. It was exactly as described. Easy to find, a few minutes from town, quiet, cozy, and spacious. The check in process was a breeze. The property owner/manager was quick to reply when we accidentally locked ourselves out of the house. We were short on toilet paper, no kleenex or laundry soap. No biggie, we bought and left in the house for the next people. Pay in forward VRBO style.
