First off, we have never stayed in a yurt before so have nothing to compare this yurt with. We've had friends to and they have had good things to say. Since this was a last-minute trip and we wanted to be close to the trailhead, we decided to try out this yurt that advertised that it was "7" minutes from the trailhead. and was "luxurious"!!!!! It ended up being 24 minutes. I'm glad I had GPS because the way that the host told us to go, was in the opposite direction and there was NOTHING luxurious about this yurt! The bathroom was basically a shower with a place for water to come out of the commode top (when working)!!!! There was just a little toilet paper on the roll and the host said he would bring some back, but he didn't! I used my biodegradable toilet paper I keep in my backpack and just went outside. There was NO light to move around with you (everything was run by a solar panel). There looked to be a lantern-type device but it didn't work! Thankfully, we had our head lamps in the car. There was, thankfully, extra bottled water and we used that to brush our teeth and wash our face and hands. It also advertised that the yurt was "nestled along the Doe River"!!!! The Doe River was at least 1/2 mile to walk down the road to get to it. It did have a little view of a mtn.! I feel like this was nothing like what was advertised. Although it served our purpose, and we were on the trail at 5:45, I would never stay there again!!!!
