Overall goodHot tub was comfortable, however, the cover was in very bad condition pieced together with duct tapeLock to deck door was not working properly but we got it to workRecommend getting a Kuerig coffee makerBeds were very comfortableExcellent remote location but close to restaurants, skiing, golfing, etcHighly recommend this rental with the exceptions noted
Loved having so much outdoor space to ourselves ! Great views even though it was muddy and wet while we were there. Plenty of room. We played games, did puzzles, baked, used hot tub, enjoyed the wood burning fireplace.
Kitchen is definitely small, but we made it work. Loved the fireplaces and the wood supply, hot tub was a great bonus as well.
Nice unique home in a hill in the woods. Very vermonty
We travelled to VT for a wedding at The Mountain Top Resort. Winter Lore was a 13 min ride to the venue and a great location for our family and dogs.
The house was impeccable and the check in process simple. Weâd stay here again in a heart beat. Thank you!!
My 3 young adult sons, my husband, and myself were looking for a location that would bring us within driving distance of totality for the solar eclipse on April 8th. We needed to bring our 4 year old dog who is used to some freedom with an invisible fence at home. This property had plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, and hang out rooms for us all to have our space. The land was beautiful and enough for us to take the dog out without worrying about neighbors being bothered, traffic, and the dog running away. We did not have the opportunity to take advantage of all the wood left for fireplace and fire pits or the hot tub. Wish he had! We did get in a game of scrabble. A couple of notes: the main bedroom has windows from the sunroom (which is lovely) which will bring in early light to the room. Most of the rooms did not seem to have curtains that will block the sun from waking you up.A few of the linens seemed to be in need of replacement with a dirt stain on sheets and towels. The codes to the lockbox took some communications back and forth and several tries before we could initially get in. Having said that, I found the host to be quickly responsive whenever we needed to contact.
The Winter Lore is a cute house situated on a beautiful property. I loved the little touches of vintage decor! The host is very accommodating, quick to respond and super friendly. The house was clean and had everything we needed for the weekend. We enjoyed our stay and would absolutely book again!
Went to Vermont to see family for the week but they have a small home, so we would need a few hotel rooms to accommodate the four of us & two small service dogs. After doing the math for three hotel rooms for four nights, renting a house was a no brainer. Yes, I found places that were less money but they were half the size and many more miles away from our family we came up to visit. This listing was just four miles away from Dadâs place & had so much room both inside & out. Plenty of bedrooms, we each had a bathroom and the spacious layout gave us space needed after a 20 hour road trip from Florida. If we had more time & the weather was not as rainy, we would have had a fire in the pit set up outside and may have tried the hot tub as well. Itâs a great location just up the street from shopping and restaurants, even our favorite Sugar & Spice breakfast/lunch place almost a stones throw from the house. The check in was easy & my favorite part was how private the property is as well as all the natural light as you are surrounded by nature. I have no negatives about the place & would definitely stay again. Thank you so much for renting out your home. My family absolutely loved your place and we were so happy to not be crammed in a hotel room or Dadâs smaller home. Five stars from us!
The Cassese Family
We used this rental as a "base" for a wedding weekend taking place at Mountain Top Resort (13 mins away). The property was as described and the 4 bedrooms/3baths were key for everyone getting ready at once! Hot tub and firepit were an added bonus and the property was beautiful. The big "downer" was the discovery of (many) mouse droppings in the master bedroom, kitchen and dining room. I reported this to the Concierge and several hours later someone appeared to set some traps. So, I will give 5 stars to the response, but gross to have to go through that experience and embarrassing for me in front of my guests! The house was IMMACULATE otherwise, I'm sure it was a matter of it being fall in the middle of the woods.
Family of 4. Good location between Rutland, Killington, and our wedding at local resort. Nice property and newly renovated. High cleaning fees and management fees make cost prohibitive for weekend. Actual house cost reasonable for size of house and accommodations.
